vocal effects

first of all, u need a studio microphone,  a good soundcard,  and a program like soundforge to record ur vocals in wave,  then u have good quality samples   u mean vocoding ur voice ?  u can use the vocoder in propellerhead reason 3 or 4,  its software,  u record ur voice and bring in the sample in one of the samplers in reason,  then u put a vocoder and malstrom or subtractor and effects on it,  im not sure if u can do the live thing with propellerhead reason...  ask around or someone post something here how to do it live in reason ,  but u can add electronic sounds to it,  beats,  everything u want,  greetz   by the way,  i read ur post about vocals,  im not one of the best muscicians,  but u can send ur acapella vocals to :  mailto:nightshade1980@gmail.com when i have time ill try to use them and i let u know something    i made also a video some time ago how to use the vocoder in the program    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcrM7STHIeY

Yes i know:) i did my recordings in a studio with profesional material so when i heard that recording with the digitech wasn t possible, we putt the effects on the dry vocals whit software program. It s not only for vocoder, robot voices but also several effects. But i would like to know a good hardware to perform live .For a good hardware recording i think it s expensive. So for recording i will use software. It s more to perform live. For me using software live, to sing, is more unpredictable because of delays etc..:) It's my opinion:) because it already happined to me..

You saw my post:) Actually i'm making a album and i'm working with several producers. So my way of working is that i first would like to hear the music to know if whe are on the same wavelength and than work together on the song.

I don' t like to send my vocals.:) i d rather do it personal.

Second.  If your recordings were done professionally, you shouldn't have any problem getting some good quality vocoded samples. The problem is, as you state, to recreate any effects you used when you were recording. My advice: use as little effects as possible, that could save you a lot of headache later on. Now, as for the effects hardware. I'm not a professional here, but I find it very strange that the Vocal Digitech 300 would make a lot of noise. I mean, it's a pedalboard isn't it? If  you meant that it creates a lot of background noise, maybe you should consider a filter...

If you want to put effects on your voice:learn how to work with a sequencer (ableton live, fl studio, cubase..), put effects in chain and play around on the vocal input.  All of this is possible live. get the plugin 'speakerphone'

better yet:  hook up with a producer who already knows this shit and who's willing to work with you...:))

yep Sabina, we are a community and you are welcome, but i think if u come here askin some advices, you could have taken the time to fill your profile... but its no big deal about it  no stress ^^ About your digitech stuff i had a small one a few years ago, digitech too and for vocalz, i remeber it was the cheaper on the market, i suggest you to buy professional material if your looking for a professional sound...  and btw  almost all GOOD vocalz fx are builded on rack 19" and certainly not digitech... if your livin in brussels go ahead in the music shops and ask... Btw i m always lookin for vocal samples, if u got some good ones we could try a lill collab... :) seeya
