Okay, so what's the 'center' of your studio ?

mine is my A-Station.

most of my new songs are started with it. USually making a new sound and jamming on it, until i find a melody or something that inspires me the rest of the track.

Which one is your center synth ? (or soft-synth)

Most of the time I start my composition or my remix with the Sampler VST Halion from Steinberg.

The exact center is a Roland VS1880 where it all comez together.

My 'center-synth' is a yamaha TG77, which combinez FM-synthesis and AWM (samplez on chip). One might argue this synth is outdated, if u take a closer look at its structure, i believe it's timeless... Of everything i own, this synth is in my top3 list!

(Most of Brian Eno's soundscapez were made by this synth, if u'r looking 4 a reference on how it soundz)

for me it's my M-Audio Ozone using in reason, or plugged to my Audity 2000 or the Orbit.

Nuendo 2, with a Technics SX-P30 E.Piano midi-wise hooked to an Audigy Platinum... and that's about it really. I just use my keyboard as a midi master keyboard... The synths I use are all VST. Me no money :( Talk about some studio, lol.

I also use Wavelab (V.4) and Samplitude (V.6) a lot.

my computer!

most of the time on Reason, I'm trying to go out of it but really difficult because it's so easy now. I'm trying to use a sequencer soft (Ableton Live) with reason and VST inb slaves but I know that I'll lost a lot of time in training. I also use adobe auditon and recycle to make samples..

For software it is Ableton live and the center of my hardware is my Yamaha RM1X (Sound isn't really good but great sequencing, for me better than an MC 505 )

ableton live! rewired with reason.. i always start with routing my midi thru live to reason or my yamaha an200, where i search which sounds is the best for a certain melo/atmosphere, and then i sequence (record) it in live. from that basis, i build up the drums, baseline,... till i have a full live-song. after that i look how to do the structure of the song, which is very easy: i play the song live a few times, and then i know how i want the final structure to be==> heil ableton :D
