Masterization

For starters, that's called mixing, not mastering...Mastering is mainly done on your masterchannel (all the sounds put together). Eq'ing the individual sounds is called mixing.

a good way of learning may be to use a spectrum alanyser on a mix you like?

before the mastering, you have the mix. Depend the case (kind of production), the mix is more important.
