***SKC ( Commercial Suicide, Renegade Hardware, Forecast Rec) HUN

www.myspace.com/skcgambo

Few would argue that one of the producers who has put Hungary on the map of drum’n’bass is skc [32]. After becoming a classical music fan and training himself to play the piano during his teenage years, skc was converted to electronic music by a live experience: a party in 1998 with Ed Rush in the main slot where skc was sucked in by a mysterious Wormhole… …and when he appeared again he was ready to make his own beats. He had his first notable releases on Trace’s DSCI4 imprint, some of which got rinsed by many of the elite players all over the globe. Since then, having got in touch with some of the biggest names in the scene, his tunes have been enjoying support from the likes of Klute, Concord Dawn, Ed Rush, BSE, Pendulum, Flight, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Digital, Spirit, Matrix, Marky, Dieselboy, Andy C and so on. Representing his own and his fellow Hungarian producers’ sound all over Europe in the last few years, he’s played in the UK, Holland, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Croatia, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, etc. With his long time coproducer Chris.su he also did a successful tour in Australia. As his classical training suggests, skc tries to inject some musical elements into d’n’b both in the studio and behind the decks, but he doesn’t mind the odd dancefloor anthem either. Like a rollercoaster ride, his sets cover the whole spectrum of this varied genre from the dubby sounds and rollers through the big smashers and vocal crowdpleasers to the minimalistic techno vibes. Apart from his collabs with Chris.su and his solo projects, he’s also involved in the TACTILE collective [Chris.su, skc, Safair, Longman and Bratwa], and in MINDSCAPE.

Skc’s first solo album, a 2x2 double pack and a CD was released on Klute’s Commercial Suicide label in 2006. Releases in 2007 include a track called ‘Destroy’ on the Renegade Hardware album entitled ‘Above The Game’, and a remix of a true classic, Absolute Zero & Subphonics’ The Code, also on Renegade Hardware. Still in the pipeline is a remix he did of Black Sun Empire’s classic ‘Firing Squad’, plus a few unreleased tracks signed by Commercial Suicide and Renegade Hardware.

***JUNGLEFEVER & DEEPFLOW (No-Dex) NL

www.myspace.com/deepflow www.myspace.com/dnbsouljah

Rob Raider a.k.a. Deepflow has produced electronic music for over 10 years, having released his 12” debut Recordings in 1998. Since 1999 he has been dj-ing drum & bass which led to many national bookings and also the first international appearance in 2005 with his partner in crime JungleFever. Deepflow is also working in the studio with Krewzader (BE), resulting in tracks such as "Bad Buddha". More to come! Dj JungleFever started dj-ing drum & bass/ ragga-jungle in March 2001. Over the years, he has increasingly developed his own style of tight and rapid mixing. This resulted him playing at venues and raves all over Holland, Belgium and Poland. Since 2006 he has been spending some time making beats and learning about music production as well as crossing over to live sets. In 2007 they started focussing on live sets where they aim to create a raw and energetic jungle/d&b/tekno sound on stage joining their laptops and midi controllers. Expect a crossover mash up for this one!

***WASP VS D CONVICT ( Therapy Sessions / Dedkob ) BE

WASP

www.myspace.com/djwasp

Dj Wasp is a versatile and skilled DJ, part of the Dedkob and Bassground crews. He plays out regularly in Belgium, and internationally. He also used to be part of Gamorah Sound (a famous Belgian dnb collective) before they split in 2006

His very broad selection is his biggest weapon but surely not his only one. Switching from fresh jump up over to dark tech step through to huge breaky beats mixed with surgical precision, this dj becomes a force to reckon with.

His DJ skills have got him regular bookings in his home country of Belgium, where he has played alongside Trace, Alley Cat, Dylan, Robyn Chaos, Technical Itch, Skynet, dj Steppa, Pascal, Dillinja, Lemon D, Chris SU, Resonant Evil, Panacea, Eye-D, Hidden, Counterstrike, Noisia, Raiden, Phace, B-key, Loxy, Ink, Gremlinz, SPL, The Sect, Current Value, Unknown Error, Calyx, Teebee, Upbeats, John B ... . Abroad in the UK he was invited to Dylan and Robyn Chaos' night, Therapy Sessions London and Therapy Sessions Bristol, where he played alongside Technical Itch, Dylan vs Robyn, Silent Witness, Audio, D-bridge and Kryptic Minds, he played several times in the UK, Holland, Germany, Spain, France, Israël, Poland and the Czech Republic. He is also regularly invited to DJ at Belgian festivals like Laundry Day, Pukkelpop, Step One, Forrest Free Party and Soulshine.

He recently started doing more solo sets and also some back to back sets with his good friend and co-dj D-convict (Dedkob). Wasp also organises the successfull Therapy Sessions Belgium nights (along with Hydra).

D CONVICT

www.myspace.com/dconvict

Sharp and skillful mixing blends the most eclectic variety of sounds you can think of. Labels such as Metalheadz, Reïnforced, Goodlooking, No U-turn, Moving Shadow, V Recordings and R&S are well represented in his record collection.

As part of the Redroom and Dedkob crews his skills were recognized by many, resulting in continuous bookings which haven’t slowed down since. He has played all over Belgium at events such as Star Warz, Enter The Future, Steam, Redroom, Metalheadz 10 years, A Jungle Supreme, AreA 51, Therapy Sessions Belgium, War of the Roses, Step One, 100%, Nightown, Backstage, The Zoo, Stepping Bass, MOD and Sous-Sol, to name but a few. Bookings abroad include France, Holland, Poland, Germany and Lithuania.

These sets were played alongside a host of quality names such as 4hero (Dego & MC MAD) , Krust, Shy fx, Remarc, Clipz, Blame, Dylan, Loxy, Nookie, Temper D, D-Bridge, Paradox, Seba, Storm, Fresh, Raiden, Goldie, Skitty, Panacea, Limewax, Bizzy B, Extreme, Hidden, Vicious Circle, J-Laze, Sven Van Hees, Flying Dewaeles, Keb Darge, Ancronix, Gamorah Sound, Adi-j, Pan, Pressure, Beanfield, Goodfella, Crossfire, Dreazz & Falcon, James Hardaway, Dan & Conrad (Idjut Boys), Cut la Roc, Snowboy and the Latin section, Tom Middleton, Darren Price, Jef K, Suburban Knight, The Bollock Brothers, Gemeni, MR Bongo, Le Lutin...

This DJ has the power to put his heart and soul into a set, hyping up crowds with driving bass and often unexpected but delightful twists to his selections. Infusing the best of DNB from all eras with tasters of Funk, Rave and Hiphop, this artists love of music and good times is infectious.

Besides Spinning solo and back to back sets as well as organizing the legendary Redroom nights, he also turned his hand at production and is currently working on some tracks with his brother. Definitely one to watch!

***DOBE&DAZE (Mystic / Critical Rec / X Tinction Agenda)

www.myspace.com/dobednd www.myspace.com/dazednd

D&B deejay duo DND grew up together (being family-related) developing a mutual taste in music. Coming from a hiphop/dub/electronicsbackground, they discovered early jungle/D&B in the mid 90's.They fell in love with the pure energy of D&B, getting hooked on dj-ing and the D&B vibe and it has been controlling their lives ever since....

Around 1997 they both moved to Ghent getting in touch with Juice Blenders,MK, Soul,Karlito,Scenter-crew....They started their own radioshow called Mystic, (nowadays still runnin' as part of liquid flavaz @ www.urgent.fm), got involved with Tecktonic and became regular guests at SousSol. The radioshow was supported by a monthly Mystic residency at Club Bardot (Beestenmarkt Ghent) inviting the finest belgian D&B dj's. Meeting a lot of people with the same love for the music, they became keyfigures in the development of the D&B scene in Ghent........

From then on ,things moved pretty fast for D'N'D. Being invited to play at all mayor Dnb-events in Belgium (10days off,Starwarz, Kozzmozz versus Fuze, House Torhout,Enter the future,Steam Decadance,Culture Club...and lot's of small parties all over the country).Meanwhile still going strong with their own Mystic partynights, Mystic left the home of club Bardot and turned into a partyconcept all over Ghent (Leopolds kazerne,Club69,.and later on at Charlatan)..Around 2000 they were asked to represent the Fried Chicken Recordstore (specialised D&B recordstore taken over by part of the juice blenders).Unfortunately the store had to close down in 2004.

D'n'D invited Juice Blenders to help organise the future Mystic partys.Together they lifted the Mystic-concept to a higher level, inviting prestigeous international artists (Danny C, Nu:Tone, Flight, Dj Lee,Storm, Bad Company,Digital, Mc Fats,Fabio,Break,Survival...). One of the highlights was the''10 years of Metalheadz'' celebration-party at Vooruit, a co-production with longtime underground promoter Democrazy.

A few years ago they also got into the production-side of things.Building their own studio and working on productionskillz, they found a new love (alongside dj-ing). Shaping their own sound, Dobe'n'Daze are preparing to play there own tracks in the very near future.............Dobe'n'Daze love to mix the rough with the smooth, providing that unexpected touch. Keeping an eye on the musicall side, they go from soulful to dubby to rave.Always aiming to heat up the dancefloor.

Played with international artists:Fabio 2x,Break,Survival, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Bad Company, DBridge, Dj Loxy,Martyn, Doc Scott, Digital, Aphrodite, Grooverider 2x, Danny C, Storm, Randall, Usual Suspects,Nu:tone,Chase & Status,Future Cut,Dj Lee,Flight,Dj Addiction,Ill logic,Future Bound,Beta 2,Silver,Friction...

***ESKEY&SALLOW (Stepping Bass)

www.myspace.com/steppingbass

Eskey & Sallow are always in for a great time musicwise. Acknowledging their origin at the first Stepping Bass party is to concede their style. They prefer an upfront, eclectic mix of techy tunes alternated with great liquid ones & special combos. Its their objective to keep every man and woman in the room moving. And if you dont then you did not get the picture. Do Music !

***KREWZADER (mentalLAB)

www.myspace.com/krewzader

Armed with youthful vigour and a huge amount of love for the music, DJ Krewzader and (MC Mush) made it to international success in no time. In doing so, they have become one of the driving forces behind the Benelux scene, and have steered it boldly where no one had gone before. Krewzader had been mixing for five years when he fell in love with Drum and Bass. Bagging a residency at a club in Ghent when he was seventeen, he then set up two of his own concepts: Boom Biscuits and mentalLAB, with the intention of promoting local and largely forgotten talents. By teaming up with skilled producers such as Crossfire (DSCI4 / Crossfire Recordings), Motion Theory (Signal Recordings), Hydra (Nu Electro) and Saphir (Complex Beatz), he focused the Belgian massives attention on the home-grown whiz kids, as well as turning heads with his own artistry behind the decks. His trademark, dark technoïd sounds together with powerful and energetic mixes. He is also known for his unique style of selection, but will still make any crowd go wild! Early 2005 he joined forces with Mush, a 21-year-old MC who delivers his lyrics in an entrancingly relaxed flow, crisply contrasting Krewzader's own brand of darker sounds. They connected. So the boys went global and spread the sound to the U.K., the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany. With more Uk and Poland on the maps in the future…. Besides spinning, Tom is also involved as a promoter, booking agent and producer. Early 2006, he graduated from the Electric Music Producing course at SAE institute in Rotterdam, Holland, where he is still residing for the moment. Now he is doing the Audio Engineer diploma at the same institute. Krewzader is currently working in the studio with some well respected Dutch producers (Deepflow, ...). He also teamed up with several international producers, one of which the mighty Infiltrata (Barcode/Photek) from the US. So we can expect some new developments on the production side of things soon. A lot has happened for this guy in a short amount of time, and he ain't stopping yet... Shouts to Mush, Steamteam, Deepflow, L Double, Boxedlab, Beatkingz kru and all the rest we forgot! Krewzader plays most of the time together with MC Mush, and has already shared line ups in different countries with: Q-Project (UK), Danny C(UK), Future Bound(UK), DJ Storm (UK), DJ Lee (UK), Concord Dawn (NZ), Mampi Swift (UK), Chase&Status (UK), Fierce (UK), Keaton (UK), Skitty (UK), D Bridge (UK), Loxy (UK), Bailey (UK), L Double (UK), Cause4Concern (UK), Phobia (UK), Audio (UK), Masheen (UK), Infiltrata(USA), Identity (BRA), Noisia (NL), Phace (DE), The Panacea (DE), Define (UK), Poi&Affray(UK), Hoppa(UK), MC Stirlin (UK),MC Suddz (UK), Danjah (UK), Martyn (NL), Nymfo (NL), EYE-D (NL), Radic (LUX) , Bazooka (LUX), Chook (LUX), Le Lutin (FR), Alix Perez(BE/NL/UK), Shapeshifter(NL), Junglefever (NL), Millenium Kru (BE), Dj System D (BE), Crossfire (BE), Motion Theory (BE), Wasp (BE), Hydra Breaks (BE), Axi (BE), D Convict (Be) and many many more.. . *** DJ's ON ROTATION : GDC - SWAHILI - IMPACT

This time we will open this night of new years madness with "dj's on rotation". These upcoing dj's will switch places every couple of records...

ROOM 2 : Dubstep/Grime/Ragga/Roots/Dancehall

***GRIMELOCK (Dour Festival / Stainage) LIVE

www.myspace.com/Grimelock

Starting out in 1998 as a drum and bass collective, Grimelock already has come a long way in music. In 2004 they discovered Plasticman on Nuit Blanche, and decided to play grime, dubstep and dark garage. The year after, they released 2 mixes, which received a good response. But it wasn't for last year, when dubstep saw it's growing point in Belgium, that the bookings started to arrive. They played together with Youngsta, Skream, ThinKing, Scan One, Kode9, Distance, Maximum, Chef, Geeneus, Plastician, Roll Deep, JME, Skepta,...

2006 brought the release of 2 other mixes (The 27 murderers and Doggy Style), now with own production.

Not only were they working on own music, they also started a new party concept called Stainage. After already promoting successful parties together with Boups (Le Gazon, Nuit Blanche...), they created a strictly grime and dubstep evening with names like Plastician, D1, Geeneus, Youngsta, Riko Dan, Slimzee, Hatcha and Crazy D, but also gave their support to local dj's and producers.

Their personal production, with tracks like The City, Brussels Target, Night Ridder, Ghost Town and Little Soldier, can be described as blending dark sub bass influenced music with grime beats. Bringing variation with some more uptempo beats in Pepper Jack, Test Your Mind and Kawal. Grimelock describe their own sound as combining the powerfull bass of dubstep and grimewith the uk garage and 4x4 sound. The dark sounds that used to attract them in drum and bass are finding a way into their own production.

They also worked together with friends and fellow producers Alchemyst and Saviour and Bunzer0.

2007 promises to be a big year for Grimelock with the release of their strictly own production mix called B Dubs and the addition of 2 new mc's Dynamic and Maelan to their crew.

***JAHWED SOUND (Comines) LIVE

www.myspace.com/jahwedsound

***URUHU SOUNDS (More Fire)

www.myspace.com/uruhusound

In 2001 Jamal and Jafuego decided to start a series of reggae and ragga parties, named More Fire, and thus formed the basics of Uruhu Sound. Later on Uruhu Sound was joined by Pablo, the current mc. Over 5 years, Uruhu sound is been recognised as one of the major players in the Belgian Dancehall scene. Their own party concept 'More Fire' is one of the biggest dancehall events in Flanders for the moment and has always an international lign-up. Subionic Sound, Sentinel 'the Everlastin', David Rodigan or Gramigna all have been invited. Doing so, Uruihu sound has had always contacts with local Belgian sounds. Not only their own parties are a huge succes, the sound itself is often a guest at several important gigs. Uruhu has opened shows for Jah Mason, Turbulence and Jr Kelly and has performed at the biggest reggae festival in Belgium, called Reggae Geel. They've also taken part in several clashes : local and beyond. In 2003 they organised a reggae-event in the Folk Centre (Dranouter Belgian, which organises one of the biggest festivals in Belgium called 'Folkfestival Dranouter') with General Levy (UK) as live act. One other sort of events that we've organised, the Higher Level parties, were located in the city of Ghent. Allthough Uruhu sound has been playing a major role, we're convinced that we could do so much more. Our corporation with local and international artists are just a part of this philosophy...

***SAMURAI MOVEMENT

www.myspace.com/samuraimovement

Samurai Movement aka Samurai Warrior Crew was founded during the dark winter of 2004 by Bredda X and Jopie D. Bredda X had a history of throwing small party's and jugglin at local gigs in and around k-town. With these experiences in mind a new soundsystem rose up outta the sewers of k-town. After a while Jopie D joined Bredda X in his efforts to bring music to the people and Samurai Movement was born. Samurai Movement is all about promoting positive vibes inna best tradition of reggae music. Bringing familiar jamaican vibes as well as fatty french tunes.

***DJ MATE & DJ FUDGE (Warroirz)

DJ MATE

www.myspace.com/djmate

Mate got in contact with music in the year '87. Later on that year he met TLP and Grazzhoppa, 2 people who influenced him a lot. His first love was hip-hop music, but as the years passed by DJ Mate collected more and more music from different styles. Going from hip-hop, soul, funk, trip hop, reggae, jungle, dancehall, soca and back again. The first DJ steps Mate took were around '90-'91 in his birthplace Kortrijk. DJ Mate got in contact with jungle in the early 90's. He played as one of Belgium's 1st jungle DJs at the legendary Democrazy jungle nights in '95 alongside the No U Turn crew Ed Rush & Nico. Later he played with other UK Jungle DJs like Dylan, Zinc, Trace, Kemistry and Storm,... DJ Mate left the jungle scene because of other musical influences and got more and more into the Reggae Ragga scene next 2 his brothers TLP& Dors. DJ Mate played together with the infamous T'n'D Soundsystem several times. Mashed up the place everywhere. Big up T'n'D. U will know him from the legendary QPC parties in Catacombes in Roeselare, Boom Boom Room in Antwerp, the wicked parties in Leuven at the Silo and at The Rumba, in Ghent: the underground Chaos Dayz parties, Democrazy 95'-98', 2000-2004 resident at Afterbounce Decadance, 10 days off festival in Bruges, K-Town, Antwerp...and on a few festivals. Now Dj Mate found a new genre called dubstep he really got the virus, all his time goes to producing and spinning dubstep. Dj Mate played already alongside Vex'd, Roll Deep, Distance, Quiet Storm, Chef, Target, Mala, Loefah, Pinch, Mary Ann Hobbs,Plastician, Skream, Slt Mob and more dubsteppers in the near future. Dj Mate got a new radio show every friday from 00h till 02h GMT + 1 its called "After 12" on Urgent.fm / 105.3Fm. It's together with Goony and Mc Eleven, Dj Mate spins Dubstep Grime and old skool jungle. Goony is on the raving tip old and new. U can find DJ Mate spinning all around the country. He's one of Belgiums finest if u want a quality evening. Nowadays DJ Mate gives u a mix of all the newest in Dubstep, and from time 2 time he plays Grime Old skool jungle Uk-Garage and some older rave stuff.

DJ FUDGE

www.warroirz.be

Born in 1978, Fudge got in love with music at an early age through his sister. Fudge first listened to new wave and punk music, later on he evolved to hardcore and heavy guitar stuff. He never lost his love for guitar music, the name Fudge actually comes from the infamous EARACHE band Fudge Tunnel. When he moved to Ghent to attend the University,Fudge discovered a variety of new stylesof music. Hiphop, Reggae and Ragga got him moving on the dancefloor as well as acid and techno. It is at the old Democrazy club he first heared a jungle set spinned by Bob Miller alongside MC Skreen(1996). The jungle virus infected him immediately. Instead of studying he started buying records at the Fried Chicken shop in Kortrijk and the Music Mania in Ghent and tried to mix them on his first crappy decks. It is at the University he met Mikis a geezer with the same musical interests. They started spinning together and formed the "Isocteur" collective. The "Isocteur" collective rocked lots of dancefloors and dropped numerous parties, mostly at La Gare (near Kortrijk) but also in Ghent( Decadance, Paradox...). At a party in Leuven Fudge bumped into Goony, a guy he knew from K-town and who was spinning there with DJ Mate. Together with MC Sane they came and conquered at one of the "Isocteur" parties at "La Gare". Spinning more and more together they decided to form the Warriorz Crew.Under that name they spun together or alone and organised parties mostly in Kortrijk and Ghent. Fudge's style is rather dark and pumping, amen influenced. From time to time he also likes to spin some more 'experimental' stuff, mixing distorted jungle with acid breakz ,electro and more and more dubstep.

see you there!

Okay,

Some good and some bad news here... to start with the bad news:

Due a negative fire-inspection at the Blackbox, it has been forbidden to throw the party over there.

The good news is there is a new Location: De Achterban. That one is located 5 minutes from station 'De Dampoort', on the Land Van Waas Laan. It wil be only 1 room though, dnb only.

MentalLab is sorry for the inconvenience, this wasn't to be forseen... Still hope to see some peepz out there, soundsystem will BLAST!

And a final update on this one... Some small changes after my last post, and also the official MentalLab anouncement:

I am very sad to announce that we where not able to find a location that could host our both rooms. Due too this, we had to decide what direction we would take the party and focus on that. Since we're a DNB organisation and SKC was already booked we will go the DNB way. We did manage to keep Grimelock on board though. Thanks for beeing so cool. Sincere appollagies go out to Jahwed sound, Uruhu, Samurai and Warriorz. Unfortunatly, due too a closing houre, we also had to drop dj eskey and sallow from the DNB line-up. I 'me very sorry guys.

For the better news... The LAB NYE will be able to go down at:

JOC Achterban Land Van Waaslaan 162 9040 Sint Amandsberg

We bring you...
