korg nano?
Help neededWith the hollidays coming up I have been roaming the internet for possible present suggestions. (I know, no surprise then, but at least I get what I want :-) ) I came across the korg nano (keys, pad and controller) which seem interesting. Mainly because they are really cheap (about 60 euros each) Are these controllers a complete waste of money or an interesting alternative for the cheap bastards (like myself) among us?

Novation Nocturne is also cheap! And that automapping function looks really horny! :D
i have a novation nocturn, and i'm really glad about it. still i'll also buy the korg nanocontrol and nanopad (not the nanokey, doesn't impress me). the automap fuction is indeed awesome, but u quickly notice that a korg midi controller is a bit steviger. the plastic knobs of the nocturn are really fragile. difficult to say which one is better...

i ckecked the M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2 isn't it a lot better if you have a midi for keys and a midi for knobs? check out the korg K61 ( i bought it for 150 € in keymusic) if you want some good keys, and for knobs use the novation nocturn or the korg nanocontrol.

I am very fond of the Korg Nano controllers. Wanted to buy them. But they where already sold out at the time.
Am waiting till they come out in black ;-)! But Definetly am going to buy them. 180€ for a whole package of controls looks like a idea to me anyway
I've got a Nocturn, and I have a nanoPad and nanoKontrol. The Nocturn not on my desk right now. Why? Because it's mainly to link with VST's, and there's something dangerous about that.
- the AutoMap software keeps my MIDI devices busy, even when they're not in use, so I can't use the ones without multiclient drivers in Live.
- it's definately geared towards wrapping VST's, and once you're using the wrapped versions, and you remove the Automap software, those VST's will no longer load and those songs will be broken. Besides, I'm more for mapping MIDI controls and then mapping those within the host itself rather than mapping directly to the end. It seems more safe that way. Oh, and the X-Y control on the nanoPAD is definately a must have!
