so i finally got to the point where i tought i could use all my reason knowledge again while still enjoyin abletons smooth interface and f*cked up fx but now reason crashes whenever i try to make an ableton-master, reason-slave setup.i got this message though that says i need to reinstall reason cause my rewire engine isn't properly installed. problem is that i'm on my 'kot' in gent atm and my reason cd's are lyin around somewhere at home so my question is: does anyone know a way to fix my rewire engine without goin through the entire installin process etc...?thx in advance

make shure to first start up ableton, and then reason. if this doesn"t help, safest thing is reinstall

well ofcourse i did that but that's when the crash occurs... meh maybe i should take this as a forced opportunity to finally switch to reason 4, if i have to reinstall anyway then hehe

I once had a problem with rewiring ableton en reason, seemed I had to replace te "rewire.dll" file or something, I think you'll find it at the propellerhead site

k i installed reason 4 and now it doesn't even find reason anymore in ableton, then i read the post of Midiot and tried some things concerning the dll file, with no result. i can't download from propellerhead though cause of some personal reasons hehe, one of the last options i could think of is replacing the dll file with an older version (i've got 1.7 atm) but i'm fearin this will bug parts of my reason program or even live... any suggestions?

Well the problem could lie with both reason and live. Did you try rewiring into another program? Maybe download the demo of renoise or podium to test this. This should give an idea on who's the cullprit. Other than that I can only think of reinstalling both applications really.

rns4 's got a much tighter releationship with rewire & especially Live there's much effort put into 2 make it work... (live 6 / 7 8 doesn't matter) may i propose Mu.Lab as a rewire client/ test ??  www.mutools.com
