London’s Mark Henning has risen up as one of the underground’s true players - recording for a volley of acclaimed international labels. Born in 1977 to English and German parents, he has spent most of his life in England, though has never forgotten his German roots and is now firmly settled in Berlin. Having released his debut album ‘Jupiter Jive’ on legendary UK institution Soma Recordings in the summer of 2008 to great acclaim, followed up with eight EPs in 2009, Mark is currently concentrating on DJing and touring his Live PA all over the world. This is one artist who is really breaking out of the mold, having been picked as a nominee for DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards for Best Breakthrough Act 2009.

Mark’s productions have been making serious waves in the scene - anyone who’s heard his music will know he doesn’t abide by the book. Mark’s sound sits somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of funk, swing, deepness and weirdness - all the required ingredients to have the crowds busting crazy moves on the dancefloor. He has established his artist career not just through his productions – on well-regarded labels such as Soma, Frankie, Clink, Cynosure, Trapez, Freude am Tanzen and Einmaleins - but also through his worldwide performances, having performed at clubs such as Fabric, Watergate, Rex Club, Weekend, SPACE, Privilege, Bar 25, Panorama Bar, The Arches, Lux and Harry Klein to name just a few, as well as festivals such as Portugal’s BOOM, Vienna’s PraterUnser and Chocolate Festival Lausanne. Mark also plays regularly for Zurich favourite Cityfox…

Mark’s tracks have been licensed to BUGGED OUT, FABRIC, M-NUS and WATERGATE compilations amongst others - as well as achieving regular airplay on radio stations worldwide. His much-respected productions have been supported and played out regularly over the past few years by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Akufen, Steve Bug, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin. As a remixer, he also keeps busy - having reworked tracks by artists such as Mike Monday, Gaetano Parisio, Mr. G, Lee Jones, Tigerskin and Chris Fortier.

With upcoming releases on Watergate Records, Cityfox, Soma, Mean and Vitalik later this year, Mark continues to prove himself as a consistant producer of quality, quirky house music. A true talent simmering at the surface, 2011 will expose Mr Henning to even greater frontiers.

Jay Lumens Music is part of his life since his childhood years. He learnt music in a conservatoire for eight years, which provides a good basis to his ambition of making music. Several DJ’s and producers took notice of his compositions. In the early years they played his compositions in bootleg versions with special liking, later they played his officially published musical tracks. His compositions usually can be heard in several Radio Shows by DJs: in Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, Play.fm, Justmusic.fm, Globalbeats.fm, Roxy Radio, Radio 2, ADN Alternative, etc.

Nowadays with his publications he became the permanent actor of the Balance Record Pool Chart Top 50, which made by international selling data and the opinion of famous DJ’s and producers. (Danny Tenaglia, Luke Chable, Chris Fortier, Deepsky, Bill Hamel, Quivver, Oscar G, Tony Thomas, etc.)

Besides composing music he became more and more open to the dj scena. He builds his sets from the musical basis of house, tech-house, techno. His sounding is featured by dynamic, pulsating grooves as you can hear it also in his compositions and in his sets. He usually appears in several radio stations programme with his DJ mixes like Proton Radio, Frisky Radio, ADN Alternative, Justmusic.fm, etc.
