When are we supposed to block a song? -if it turns out to be copyrighted material? -if people are having a fight through their comments?

And, can we block a song someone else has validated? Or, is it better to inform the person who has validated the song?

i would not block a song if people where fighting in the comments... i suppose you just delete the offensive comments and post a comment yourself, asking to focus on the track rather then on the bitching...

not that i had to such a thing, i only had to block some .fr songs.

blocking songs that somebody else validated doesn't seem a verry good idea... maybe PM the other mod first or start a thread in the admin forum to discuss why you would block it and the other mod didn't. seems a better idea.

mostly when fighting in a song ocurs,its the maker defending his work,and somebody is atackin the song;

now blocking the song would only benefit the guy who attacked the production, that would only mean, playing in his cards, wich i dont quit like

moderators need to stay out of things like that, untill it is really nescary, and see what situation it is :D

low profile is the message, and motivation of that genre is more important, remember the good old days, when your song was autorized, and zarkfather left us a litlle comment;....

just my thought, thats why funkie is helping me modding, discus these situations,we can also give some advice among moderetors too

time will tell,cheeers

I agree with you guys...I don't think it will happen a lot...Blocking songs..

Good question bout the copyrighted material... Allthough there's allready quite some copyrighted material present on ebel... So....that will be very difficult...

And I prefer the mod who validated or who's 'section' it is...that he'd be the one to do the necessairy...

So far my humble opinion...

Grtz fellas!

He says it will be deleted the 15th... so I guess it's okay. But maybe send him a PM to warn him about the possible consequences of such mixes of copyrighted material. And explain Ebel is not responsible, and not to keep this mix online all too long, and in the future advise him to make mixes of Ebel tracks :)

i can also agree with rabauw & funky...
but for future reference, what policy should we follow? absolutely no copyright material? or if it is used in a creative fashion it is acceptable?
i know some tracks (including one of my own :D ) that use uncleared samples...

or do we just look at every case individual?

I think it depends from case to case... but I think the main thing is, that you have to consider the purpose of the track. If it's (like in this case) posted as a teaser for a real live set, and he says himself he will delete it soon, then I don't really see a problem. If it's a remix with some original samples I have no problem with it either. But, if it's posted and here to stay for good - as a show-off "hey look how good my mixing skills are", thus taking profit from the hard work of all those signed artists, I think we should take measures (block song, ask user to remove the material,...).

And, if we authorize such a track, I think it's safe to leave a lil' comment explaining all this, that Ebel is not meant initially to post copyrighted material, and that any consequences are for the user solely, not Ebel.

EDIT: hehe, this Admin section is quite an active forum :)
