I'm planning on doing a democd, a kind of portfolio of my work for theater(groups) and/or film(amateur/..) thingies. This is initially why I started Mxue, as a project with relaxing music (on one hand), but also focused on real film or theatre music..
(I do have one theaterproject that I'm discussing, but it doesn't mean that I'm occupied with only 1 project etc..)
I wonder, do you know certain people who would be interested on receiving a cd? Or where can I send things to? Furthermore, I'd like to know if you have any suggestions on how to present this package? A lot of explenation with the cd or just deliver it with the songtitles :)?

MX, be a little more specific. A demoCD for what purpose? to get a contract with some recordcompany, to launch yourself in other theatre/movie-projects,...?
concerning the package that should depend on who the target-group is.
The main purpose is to get in contact with theatre- and movie-projects..

hi, no experience with that but i guess it's always more fun to receive something that is original and has some information rather than just some tunes with merely more than some titles. if you want to get the intrest of some of those special film- and theatreguys i guess it's usefull to send a creative package. in fact, that's what i would do. A collegue of mine is the owner of Rock Report - the magazine. He told me it's usefull to add info about who you are, what you think and how you think about your music. Many of those labelpeople get shitloads of them demo's and if it doesn't attract them at first sight you should be very lucky if it will even be heard. Otherwise it gets 'verticaal geclasseerd'! if you got some addresses, could you pass them on, i'm interested too. Looked for some advalvas of filmschools on the net but didn't find any yet.
