is this a free festival? hecq!!!!!!!! i wanted to see him at planetarium, but it got cancelled

I'm afraid there is some bad news..

*Hello everyone,

A week before the beginning of the festival the mayor of Maastricht told us that they are not going to give us a permit, the needed official permission to let the Landbouwbelang kraak festival take place. This was entirely against our expectations from previous meetings with the city council, where only the waterfront was a (in our opinion solvable) problem. The 10th of june there is a city council meeting where the festival will be discussed. We want to attent this meeting with as many people as possible. If you want to join us, we will gather at 13:00 near the landbouwbelang.

Their arguments are kinda stupid. Look for more info on www.kraakfestival.nl.

We are working hard on finding a way to still organise the festival. There is a chance we will succeed in this. We're putting pressure on the city council through the local politicians, are looking at legal steps and are even thinking of hosting the festival in a different city. We were very disappointed while hearing this news, especially since almost all preparations had been completed.

So this is the current situation, we hope you bear with us and that better news will follow soon.
