First , design is really ugly imho... At this price , buy a laptop or a fabulous Roland V-Synth XT (+-2000 €)
Why would you spend 1800€ on a mediocre processor that can run some vst's? I'd say buy yourself a p4 3.6ghz 1gig ram and a new soundcard for that money and you'll be much better off.
i started off mid 80's and i just love hardware. late 90's came the vst'z which at that time could NOT compare 2 hardware. i love hardware and software if it soundz good, i also do not have that enough money 2 buy every synth i like, yet i believe a real moog or sequential pro one will always sound better than any plugin but here we come to an endless discussion just like vinyl vs cd'z or 16mm vs digicamz. Yet a hardware oscillator's point of resonating distorts deeper, where a pc mostly sounds more plastic or clipping which is another sound an sich that you can't do with hardware... i guess it all depends on how 2 use it. some make good art with shitty material while others create sheit while having the best equipment. no? third, people like me using both and try to make the best of it... :D oh yeah, i wouldn't buy the muse neither, it's not what i meant by "hardware".

I'd trust this more for giging than a PC.

- if you want a PC you can fit in a 19" rack + a good soundcard you'll probably spend more than 1800€. Still the market for this muse is verry small couse like you stated you can only use a couple of vst's and that's it. But still it'l a verry nice thing for live use....

I'm not saying it won't be useful... I'm just saying I wouldn't spend that kinda money on it. The fact that it fits in a 19inch rack is not an argument to me. I'd rather bring along my whole pc (like I do now on gigs) and spend less than 1800€ on more vst-power than buying that kind of gear with (on this moment) less power for more money. If I were a rich man... (i'd sure buy stuff like this, just thinking economically now). ;)
