can someone give me some tips like wich effects to use or something like that to make my music sound less "default"??? i use some filters and reverb and compressors but it still sounds kinda...i dunno...when i listen to other peoples music i have the impression that it has been really worked on. i really want to stop jerking around and start to make some good music:) and i would need some information about what every button does to the sound (like in a filter)...maybe there are some producer forums where they explain this kind of stuff??? how do YOU make yr music cleaner and less "ear wrecking"??? :D

a realy helpful book with tons of tips is "mixing with your mind" by Michael Paul Stavrou: http://www.mixingwithyourmind.com/index.htm

and yeah, maybe trivial but before regarding to effects: a decent pair of monitors and good converters (soundcard) is imho the first step to a better/cleaner sound...

and for a swissknive mastering tool, something like izotope ozone: http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/

I use some fx from the waves diamond bundle to "clean" me sound.. the waves diamond bundle is a package of fx; compressors, EQs,... (found it on the internet) The Fx I mainly use are Rbass, to pump yer basssoundz and TransXmulti for the HiFreqs.. But I think there are loads of FX, comporessors etc to pump yer sound.. 8)

atualy,it is simple; :D and not,its all situation binded;

waves bundle!!!???they do what any on board instrument does in sx;

i use isotope to master,but euuuhm,god bless freez,or the pc and soundcard cant handle it;

for sound question,see your sound field,as a bath with water,it only can contain 500liters,or it overflows,in music>clips;

so if ya think in terms of,what aint nesecary to be there,to sound good,cut it away...

vice versa.....where the sweet sound is in your instrument,pump it a bit up...

so what aint there,makes room for something nesecary,for a good sound -;dynamic;

so ya get a balance,take some water away,ad in some human in the bath(figurly speaking),and make it so,that you spill any water;

also ,dont make any distortions,by overloading some track,nowhere anywhere,runned afterwards through some masterdevice,you should have nice sound,lclear like snow;

and mostly ya get it done,by experimenting,and time,so get ya ass bizzy
