Ripping Sounds From Internet (Youtube)
Help neededHi there fellas, I've heard here on ebel a couple of times that some people rip voice-shizzle & little sounds from online videosites like youtube. I've been willing to do the same thing, question is: how? Do I have to download some program for it?

let any audio-editing program (soundforge/audacity) or some soundrecorder (freecorder) record while you play the video... then cut off the parts you don't want and thus isolate the wished-for sample...
quite simple actually but someone has to tell you for your first time.
I'm using audacity, its not working, do I have to cahnge a certain setting? Or is it becouse I've also got a microfone plugged into my computer?

or you could just simply select the "what u hear" to record. although, for my motu it is called "cuemix input inculde computer output". so u might need to search a bit where u can tick that option on.
In Audacity you have to choose your input source (dropdown menu right of the inputvolume slider): microphone or line-in (stereo-mix). To record from internet you obviously have to choose line-in. Good luck!

I downloaded it, installed it. and at the location you speak of I can only select one thing: "default input source"... anyone got me some help? been searching for a wat to record things on my mac for a long time...
Tried with audacity…doesn't work either.

But if you need more than 10 min. of sounds, you gotta buy a license. (don't know the price).

Its not "line-in" but mono outtput, then just press record et voila.
