little thingie for not too much of green
anyone used it already? first impressions? is it really that guud as they describe on the TL-website? all comments welcome thx
Well, it looks good. You got to love those wannabe sixties vu meters.
If it doesn't sound good you can probably still use it as the cornerstone for your house.
^^ wannabe sixties vu-meters??lolthis is TL-Audio stuff manwannabe as in ... the sixties would have wanted to be in this era, to be able to get those VU-meters ... :P
a friend of mine has also a TL-audio on his wishlist (but another machine). he says it sounds amazingly warm and natural
well yeah, i already own the fatman and the fatman II and the do sound really sweet although i find the headroom-capacity to be rather low for a piece of gear that pricy. and if your not into sticking to the presets, and start to tweak a little yourself, sometimes the preamp (of the fatman II) also goes really soon really beserk on me when i push it, so i'm forced to keep my input gain really low, which makes it kinda worthless to use if you're working on a drumline.
it seems they improved that point on their ivory-series, but i was wondering how them pre's are getting out of the test in this one ...
so before spending 800 bucks i would want to know if i'm facing the same issues as with my Fatman comps ...
haven't had the pleasure of hearing it myself, but read a lot of good things about it on the net. This one is especially interesting: http://www.soundtech.co.uk/images/soundtech/downloads/FMU195.rev_tla_HPDF.pdf Too bad I can't afford things like this...
there's also a demonstration of it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2XrFvtlrtM
Hope this is of some help, EP
i only have experience witth the TL-Ivory series, and those kick some serious ass !
well, i guess it must be doable for you to test it before handing over your savings ;)
imho you can't do much wrong with TL audio....
