Soundtrack Contest open!
General discussionOkay folks, so here it is, the official thread with all the rules for the soundtrack contest:
the purpose is to compose a soundtrack to a short movie (3-4 minutes). However, keep in mind for your composition, and also in your voting judgment, it's not about making the best soundtrack pure in terms of music, it's about making a soundtrack that fits in the best with the short movie. So atmosphere, builds, tension, selection of samples, will be equally important to the musical idea itself.
Contest entries should be based on Scootchy's movie, which you can find here: http://users.skynet.be/fa419505/video/video.wmv
You have 6 weeks to finish your soundtrack(s) (until Friday June 16th), after that there will be 2 weeks left to vote.
As with the other contests, all entries will be posted anonymously, so biased votes are excluded. Only after all votes have been cast, will the names of the authors be revealed.
Each contestor can enter a maximum of 2 songs. I have asked ZARk to put up a new music section for this contest, and I hope he will have it fixed soon.
Voting system is: points 1 to 6; 8; & 10 (for the best). You can vote for your own song(s), but with a total quota of 4 as highest mark for your own track(s).
A few people wondered about editing the movie, that's okay, it if makes it easier for you to come up with a coherent idea, as long as you don't butcher it and change it all too far from Scootchy's movie.
Okay, I hope many people will enter competition. The winner gets an Ebel tshirt again (I assume? :) ).
Okay, so start composing and let the ideas flow!

Only if there are any significant changes/edits to it.
The film should be in another format than ( wmv ). To be able to open it with a video software like avid... (syncro music and video), in more for mac .wmv it is not practical. ?(
stupid question n°2:I haven'tgot the username & password for downloading the video..... Am i stupid & there is a solution for me? :D
I have a question too: has the video been made with a song over it? So like, the video is quite in rythm. Because it would be insane to make a soundtrack to a random movie :P

Dialekte: if you want a different format, maybe you can PM Scootchy and ask him to e-mail you the video in a different format.
LouLouW: what password? Normally you should be able to just download the movie, right click+"save as"....?
