I don't know about you guys, but I'm really getting sproeipoep from those members who, in some way, abuse our forum. Take member "silenced": this member is only using the forum for his own benefits and marketing. Has no songs, gives no opinions, just posting for his own profit. Doesn't give, doesn't comment and only willing to take.

I find this against the non-commercial "e-bel way of thinking" and I think it's perfectly possible to warn and eventually delete members who "abuse" the forum in one way or another. I think a communty without ghost-members is more vivid, more creative, more dynamic and more helpfull. In the end it all comes down to helping eachother and knowing what the people think of your songs.

I don't think that everybody shares this vision, so please reply :)

Greetz

Often it is advertisements for good events, thus that does not disturb me. It is not as if it was an advertisement for I love techno :fuck: For the advertisements of records, i don't give a fuck, as long as it's good.

it pisses me off as well...

that and also users who post their tracks and dont listen to others and dont comment on others...

instead they post tracks, wait for comments and then post some more, but allmost no interest in other peoples music...

sucks big time...

for a party ok, why not, but why not organise parties and involve ebel then...?

the only users that we should get rid of are the one-timers... signed in, one comment on a song from a friend and then nothing.... for 3 years!

automated you-want-to-stay mail to all "users" not having checked in for half a year. If they want to stay they have to reply in some way... others that arent interested anymore wont't reply and will automatically be deleted 2 weeks later...

Like?

How about putting the ability to post only when you added X songs, or rated X songs?

I mean, no offense, but the spammish inquisition seems to have marked this website as a prime target since there's no strict guideline...Anyone can register at this point and spam their event....makes me think about that event a while back that posted 14 times the same post and aphone had to delete it...any administrator worth his salt would have such a user deleted...a bit of a guideline would be kinda, y'know, nice...instead of 'cleaning waves' and waiting for the next wave of spam....

The more users you're getting, the more need of a strict guideline...and no excuses of X knows Y, no 'Yeah he spams a lot but I know hilm since highschool and IRL he's really cool!', you need to be able to put yourself beynd that...If you just registered to spam your event, no matter if youknow an electrobel member irl, have it deleted...or implement a way of nonactive users NOT spamming their events...I don't see any reason of it not being implemented...As I said before, I could easily spam this forum with 20 October-September JE m'en fish events, but I'm not going to...out of respect (and bandwidth)...so where's the use allowing anyone not so respectful to spam your forum. I could easily fill the first page of the party section of this forum with Je m'en fish events alone!

One or two active 'party forum' administrators to delete this kind of posts could also help...

All this blah about cleaning waves...come on, give yourself 1 percent of credibility...just implement a failsafe and be done with it, ffs. All this jibber jabber about cleaning waves...ebel has seen spam since 2003 or 2004...Only let active forum users post parties and events and be done with it. Plenty of online party and event websites to spam events for anyone else, boups, noctis, ... Keep electrobel geared to electrobel members...there's already enough events coming for electrobel...no need to drown in the spam of others who don't care a rat's ass what electrobel stands for...

I almost agree on every point with Jemenfish. I find it a lack of respect to just post promotions and not contribute in any other way. You need to have "borders", draw lines, someone who crosses these lines must deal with the consequences. By the way if you know ebel people irl, just ask THEM to post info concerning the party. Otherwise the quality and credibility of the forum will decrease.

Peace

i m a kind of ghost member :D i m really sorry to don't participate more on e-bel, but my connection is totally shity slow, and even the streaming don't works!!!! i can't download & listen :( too bad
so when the connection works good i put quickly some tracks, topics, read some stuffs ...

another reason is ( to be honnest ) i m not super fan of the colors etc.. of the website i know it's functionnal ( and it works ) but imho it could be more funny for the eyes if it could be a bit more artistic, or maybe with more colors ...

cheers sim
