I'm attempting to use the sonar program with my mc-307 but I cant get the midi to work.Surpris!!Lol. My main goal at least at the moment is to eventually dump and use the program for storage because the 307 is full.I figured i would start by trying to do one track at a time but when I've fiddled with the project settings and get it to record,I try to get it to record one track from one pattern and all it will send is a bunch of drastic wheel changes and patch changes and various other mischief. but still no notes. The cc's that get transmitted come out of nowhere.(that I know of). I can go in and manually draw in notes (I'm still unfamiliar with the specifics obviously)and they will play back but when I cant get the notes to register.I'm sure I'll kick myself when i figure it out but for now I'm baffled.I bought a midisport uno and am trying to use that, but before I bought the cable I was using an old midi cable and I got it to record notes for just a second and then it went apeshit and froze.I had to restart the mc and the prog. and now that I'm using this new cable (with the cp I will be using the prog. on regularly) I cant get it to do anything. I am impressed with the sonars resime' but I cant get it to work!Anybody know anything that could help me? THANKS to whomever in advance!
I figured I would have to use the "internal" setting for the clock. And I turned the "midi time code setting" on and off and tried recording a preset track in one instance and then tapping on the keys looking for any signs of life. What I meant by the notes not registering is that when I draw them in with the pencil, they play back but when I record....all that will register is the start time and the end time for my 307......and all that other stuff that I didnt put in. I'm thinking that perhaps there are either signals being sent that I'm not aware of or..the notes are being misenterpreted by midi(Programmer error of course.......that's me!) because of my feeble attempts to configure the settings. And it could be a driver issue as well.Oh yeah,I believe it's running on windows 2000 but me and my pop also experiment with hooking it up to my moms cpu which I believe runs on windows xp.Dont know if this is of any help but there goes. I would do the best I could to help narrow down a potential problem via someones feedback as my description is probably pretty vague and any help would be aaaawesome!
