schould it be a system that look at certain aspects, like build up of a song>then ya have a problem if ya post a song as previeuw>then ya would have to put more options in the system and so on

let us discus this isue for a minute

I too think this site needs a rating system.

I'm kinda sceptic about the '400 songs online' text on the front page. ok there are 400+ mp3 uploads, but lots of it is just not good.

first of all I think people should be more considerate. I see a lot of postings that go: "Its a rough sketch" or "this is still a demo". If you don't think your music is good, don't upload it. show people you believe in your own music.

rating may end this nonsense, cause then people will see the value of their music.

you might make a couple of rating categories, like: production, composition, guts (as in emotion touching) ...

also high quality music will attract more users ...

and make a rule about giving constructive feedback. when there's a ratingsystem there is no need for good or bad comments (thats what the rating is for, right). just be constructive, like tell what it needs, comments about the mixing, sampling, synthlines ...etc...

very glad indeed with this objectif response

elekto bell is full of shity songs, and the rating goes to number of listens to a song(even if it's bad)

i think elektrobel doesen't reflect good for outsiders,if they listened to all the crapy songs!!

so the good songs aren't never heard!!

I also believe there should be some sort of rating system, and perhaps it's best to divide into section such as 'production, composition, guts (as in emotion touching) ... ' such as praecox said.

On one hand I can agree people post their rough sketches, but i'm also against it, cause you really should be 100% behind your song and be totally satisfied and sometimes I miss this feeling when reading comments about own creations.

So, some sort of rating system... anyone else's reaction??

i'm not too hot on a rating system .... the idea of 'i like it' and 'i dont like it' that a 'favorite system' implies is more appropriate i believe.

But then you don't give any arguments why the song is bad or good?? I think it's more efficent and honest to work out a rating system where the song is discussed on different plans, such as praecox said earlier on.

If you just leave 2 options: like it / don't like it, peole can't really "discuss" a song in my opinion. If your song only gets rated "bad/don't like it" you don't really learn much and you can't focus on your negative points, you can't work on a song or make it better if it's just judged as "bad"...

a humble opinion, once again

well the problem lies in the wats good and wats bad ?

i mean technically a Britney Spears song is 5/5 ... but it doesn't make it good ... but that's my opinion, some people think Britney's music is good. Do you see what i'm trying to say here ?

I understand completely, but I just think people who like a Brintey Spears song (dull exemple but let's keep it) will vote "i like it" and people who dislike it will vote "i don't like". Case closed

But when they who don't like it can motivate their choice in a few categories, the producer of the song (= Britney :D) knows what's wrong with it or what's to be changed. If the majority of the votes is negative, people will learn what's wrong with their music, or what they can approve, and how to do it. If the majority is positive, they'll see what makes a song as good, and what's less good... constructive comments!!

Hopefully I made myself clear, damn britney

well, what would you say if someone posted a britney copycat song?

I would say: "Oh man tight ass production skills, I'm bedaffled but the sound quality, but ... this is not original, nor does it excell in its genre." (this is just generic, I would give more comments on a real song)

and my points would be production: 9/10 composition: 7/10 guts: 2/10 overall value: 5/10

see, that would make things cristal clear, I think everyone understands what I just said, and the person who posted the song knows the who what why ...

that's wight, that's what i wanted to achieve with this forum>>>

a good overvieuwed rating system>>and devided in two

1>previeuw 2>finisched

mixed with the elements of praecox

one thing is sure,it can't stay like this in the future

some are loops,or are rediculious>>if new people hear those so called productions, they wont take elektrobell serious
