SIMON BASSLINE SMITH - Technique Recordings

http://www.stealthbombers.be/pics/SB09_SBS.jpg%5B/img] Influenced by his love of underground funk, soul and hip-hop the infamous Simon 'Bassline' Smith started spinning the decks at an early age. At this point in his life he was setting the stage for the rest of his musical career by pioneering the sound of the underground all over the UK which was the basis of the rave scene as we know it today.

Simon was given the name 'Bassline' after destroying the majority of the speakers at the parties at which he played.

As the underground rave scene progressed in the early 1990's Simon 'Bassline' Smith was at the forefront, playing for some of the biggest dance organizations in the UK such as : Perception, Mythology,Raindance, Dance '91 and World Dance & AWOL, along side Grooverider, Fabio, Mickey Finn & Jumping' Jack Frost. Simon was spearheading the new musical form (Jungle) now known as Drum & Bass.

Simon quickly set up his own label, called Absolute 2, which at the time, was one of the only Drum & Bass labels in the world which gave birth to now legendary producers such as: - Doc Scott, Nookie, Ray Keith and Danny C (twisted anger / primary motive) Absolute 2 Records released a long list of ground-breaking tunes including such anthems as:- Doc Scott -The Surgery EP, Nookie - Give a Little Love EP and the controversial Ray Keith - News at Ten.

With the success of Absolute 2, under his belt Simon began his career as a producer and was an instant success with anthems such as:- Music and Life EP, Palomino ( Absolute 2 ) and Midnight ( Good Looking ) were all seminal tracks in what was just becoming D&B.His musical style was, to say the least, ahead of its time.

In the 1998 the paths of Simon 'Bassline' Smith and, a relatively unknown bunch of dj's / producers called, Drumsound crossed. Their mutual understanding and musical tastes were the defining factor which initially brought them together and it was soon decided that a combined imprint should be formed in order to showcase their joint / individual projects Technique Recordings was born.

Since its conception Technique Recordings, Bassline Smith and Drumsound have gone from strength to strength utilizing their knowledge and enthusiasm to build an imprint of global proportion. Their success has been created through the ability to work tightly as a team and to progress as one formidable unit.

CYANTIFIC - Hospital Recordings

Our freelance Cyantist's hail from the far flung reaches of South-West London. Jon & Matt have been making harsh tasty beats together since high school and were gathered up into the Hospital fold in summer 2002, after a tip off from High Contrast. With a series of 12"s, remixes and compilation appearances helping to build their diehard underground fanbase.

In 2005 they released "DON'T FOLLOW" a storming fast soul classic which featured the vocal talents of the legendary DIANE CHARLEMAGNE, this brought their sound to a new audience and has remained in the boxes of many A-list d&b jocks ever since.

Jon's DJ sets are something to behold too - this man has some serious skills, and he's on a mission to spread the gospel according to CYANTIFIC far and wide. Rumours are rife; that he practices for over 12 hours per day; that he has magic arms and fingers; that he has special communication links to reptilian beings from another planet.

Hospital cannot confirm or deny these rumours.

YOUNGMAN MC - Technique Recordings

[img]http://www.stealthbombers.be/pics/SB09_youngmanmc.jpg%5B/img] Youngman MC has performed explosive rave-destroying sets at some of drum and bass biggest nights and he is fast becoming one to watch of the new blood vocalists on the circuit. As well as his spitting ability Youngman also posses a soulful singing voice which makes his sets extra special.

He’s the Technique Recordings resident MC alongside MC Biggie and will be touring with the rest of the Technique camp on their forthcoming LP launch parties. He’s played a number of high profile events both in the UK and abroad including: - France, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Spain, and Belgium to name a few. Youngman has also made guest appearances on Kool FM and Pyrotechnic Radio.

His recordings exploits feature him working with world renowned producers Drumsound & Bassline Smith and has featured on their Album The Nature of the Beast on a track entitled Ever changing. Youngman also features on the brand new 'Street Technique' Album with a hot joint called 'Judgement Day'. Forthcoming Drum and Bass releases include a single on DJ Hypes Dubplate Killaz Pt 2 LP entitled Steal My Heart.
