zark announced on facebook that he will join us next week on the amastic happening, ill ask him there whats true about this selling thing, the V3,... i dont know anything at this point, never talk to the zarkmeister idd, fact is that hes never around...

I think what he means is the following (please correct me if I'm wrong Aphone):

The idea for Ebel came from Zark, who is also administrator, runs the servers, coded most of the site, etc. Of course, this couldn't have been done without the help of some of the peeps who have been on here since the very early days (going on more then five years now) . The site as it is now, is version 2 of Ebel. Thusfar, everything ok. But since two years or so, there have been ideas for a (improved) version 3. The problem is that it has remained with ideas and talk, and that no action whatsoever has been taken to actually realise any of this. On top of that, Zark is not very communicative about what he is planning on doing with Ebel. When moderators (apart from Liquidbass) try to get in touch with him, he just doesn't respond.

anyway, to make a long story short, a lot of people have put in a lot of effort to make this site the way it is. They feel unappreciated, which is understandable. But of course, since Zark doesn't really communicate, we can't understand what is the problem or delay with the newer version. So even if he has good reasons, almost nobody on here knows about them. That is why people get frustrated.

That is the way it is. I'm not taking sides here, if it's seems that way, sorry! This is the situation as I understand it. Feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong.

i ve seen this comming,thats why i flipt out a few years ago and went my own way.some off you never heared of me.but i've put a lot of time in e-bel.i've sticked my head out ceveral times.like motivating people to buy t-shirts so e-bel would be free of charge.i motivated people to make better masterings wich was a kind of speciality of mine.i've made a great deal of promo for this site i keep in touch with 2 e-bel members these days,who i call friends.and they all think a like...ebel isent what it used to be.and i put this nicely,i wont repeat their words i dont think zark cares about the people in here.it was always intended to make money.it began with google ads etc.i know some webdesigners and they all use the same trick.design a website...make it run,then sell it.and start a new concept,and history repeats itself.and i cant blame him.you dont want to eat french fries every day.

Long time since I didnt write here ^^ Well, I know whats happening, and I know it very well because I work with Zark. First, he is damn fucking busy since a lot of month. Believe me, you will juste fall on your ass if you realize how much work he done and still have to do ! Ebel is just one piece of the puzzle. Then, just believe me, sincerley, when I say that V3 is coming, and will kick your ass !! Why isn't that coming sooner ? For a simple reason: When you have a lot of work, you have to organize thinks to see how ALL the work will be done the faster possible. You dont have a global vision of Zark's work,you just know ebel. If you were Zark, for sure you will admit that the best solution is to do things in that order.

Let me predict somethings: You will not see the V3 before 2010 guys. Until that moment, Zark and ebelers need your support. Keep it alive, because the butterfly is neerly coming.

I hope you'll understand and trust me as I do for you all.

1. Busy: So are the mods probably. And you're talking about your job, not electrobel. Both should be separated no? There's coding and coding :)

2. Just one piece of the puzzle: That's yours and Zark's point of view and is exactly what is making people like cestqui post what they do and people like aphone triggerhappy. You're site programmers. You're building a V3 program, using it on professional websites, making money out of it, and then as a last priority see if you can implement it here.

Which, like he said, is fine (you even explained how you were working to me IRL) as everyone needs a job lol, but this is an artist community of tracks in copyleft, so it's pretty understandable they get fed up, no? Especially with so much non-communication :)

I think a lot of people feel as if this is an abandoned project.

The donations would also be used for a new server (how much was made again?) but people never really saw anything new. And I gave a couple of hundreds in 2007. So, even if the donations are used elsewhere first, or if there is or is not going to be an ASBL/VZW (I think 95 percent of people won't even know you're working with Zark on a V3, I know I wasn't when you told me, and you also told me you weren't on electrobel anymore), all those things could be resolved with just a little communication.

I think if you can even tick someone like aphone off, then you're bound to have quite a deep problem lol. Coz you lost a lot of the more difficult people already.

I think we just need more severe/hard-ass mods to deny false descriptions and not piss-off Aphone. But at the other hand it (in this case) creates a thread that could push things forward,so thanx Aphone for being pissed :)) *high-five   something to make conversation ; imagine not accepting new members for a wwhile...they do it for a looong time on the WATMM-forum...or maybe those who want to join have to send a mail to one of the mods explaining what they do and create,how serious they are about music...or even post on the forum to introduce themself, "hi,Im this guy,I make that, heres my space...".Or maybe people who wanna join have to ,from now on,donate SOMETHING to be able to join in,but I totally understand that all of these ideas require alot of work to realise...   about the "spamwithout a profile=please fill in your profile"-issiue ; I hope the v3 makes it impossible for people without profile or tracks to spam.On IDMforums they only allow posting of links/tracks after 10 regular posts wich is an excellent system imo

No you are wrong. Donations on ebel, I dont know how much is coming in, but I know that a lot is paid for ebel. Also, I sayd that i work with Zark, not that im on the V3 project (well, of course i am but its really not the actual main task).

You may speak and show the probem in a lot of angles, Zark is like everybody, he get 24 hours by day and he have to do his best to keep every project alive. Ebel is one of them, and is done to be the more possible independent. You are all free to keep it alive, or leave it. That's it ! I dont understand why Zark is actually needed. Isn't ebel usable as it is ? Then...be happy with wath you get, or just leave it and wait the V3.

I wait the V3 to 'came back'. During that wait, I still do some stuffs for ebel. But hey, bart, Zark is at less on 5 differents jobs with a similar importance than ebel. You are all free to help zark to do ebel as a asbl ! Just do it, he will not say no !

I think the truth here is that you wait for papa-zark to take it in hand... Papa-zark is busy !  Leave your chair and go make an asbl of ebel, then I wil agree if you still have some complaints... What? You have to much things to do ? Mmmmh, you see, you understand zark !
