aye so, I took many of your suggestions and specifications and went to Forcom in Merelbeke where I composed my future comp;

  • ASUS P5Q3 motherboard (135€)
  • Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz (176€)
  • Corsair 4096MB memory (110€)
  • Seagate 750GB SATA2 Barracuda Hard Drive (81€)
  • PointOfView nVidia GeForce 9600GT 512MB (102€) (enough for GTA4? ^^) Plus al de rest is 790€, Good deal? or anything unnecessairly, anything that should be better?

many thanks!

If you go bargain hunting on the net you could probably build that pc for around 650 euro. (I know cause I'm about to build the same :) ) Then again, buying from your local dealer is good, cause having the warranty close is a definite plus.

In that case go for it :) (too bad for the two left hands, because that rig allows for some very nice overclocking with the right casing)

jup, you can overclock that q6600 up to 4gigahertz without losing stability, good choice imo.

any way to omzeil btw? find someone with a btwnumber, let him buy it, he can recollect the btw trough his business or shop or whatev'.

I've seen stable overclocks on air cooling up to about 3.7 (which is still nice) Anything above that requires liquid cooling to really pass stress tests.

offcourse, that's a silent premisse

but 0.3ghz ain't worth buying such expensive and kinda risky stuff imo
