same here, but not becouse of a boycot it's just pfff last year was way to crowded, more douchebags around that just wanne get laid then ever (twas lijk werchter all over again) I'm just glad I went during the good days (3-4 years ago). Prices are getting rediculous, the pressure to buy a tick as well and damn, last year there were artists I died to see each day! (not like all those groops I've seen lots or last year and not like the commercial shizzle this year) but this year dour made me realy sad first lineup: hmm nothing intresting, maybe a few minor names, but I'm sure the next lineup will be great! 2nd lineup: hmm nothing intresting, maybe a few minor names, but I'm sure the next lineup will be great! 3rd lineup: hmm nothing intresting, maybe a few minor names, but I'm sure the next lineup will be great! and so on... and now all the names are in but nothing realy speaks to me that much accept saturday (µ-ziq, otto, drumcorps, bochem,...) and that dubstepday but it doesn't speak to me enough to gow spending all my money on it (drumcorps FREE at herk, saw otto last year, bochem welt @reefallert.... and hell I'm sure I'll get plenty of chanses to see those few others I want to see) imo the decay of dour started when they stopped putting darkstep on the lineup and only falling back on commercial dnb... that was a sign to me, choosing "easy & sure" music abouve discordant (kheb mijn engels keer geleerd;) ) music...

to be honest I'd still like to go, but only going for one day seems a tad gay for artists I allready saw or deff will get to see in the future and going for 4 days will bankrupt me bigtime and isn't worth the lineup...

but hey thats my statement

and about that lake: I could remember when the lake was still low profile but last year damned derover and I was realy suprised to see how poluted the lake was of all those wannebe hippies washing their hair with champoo...

Yeah same here, no boycot, but I just don't even look at the line-up anymore; The festival is just on a crashcourse into infinity from what it was. Mid-nineties when there were only so few people the festival was truly something unique, and the whole town was involved (you could get a shower being hosed by local people, or they cooked hamburgers in their garage). Due to that festive bit they received more and more support and now in the end, they sold out their soul.

The festival terrain last time I went when we had 3 artists playing looked more like a foire/kermis than a festival IMHO. And don't get me started about those promogirls of certain companies even harrassing artists in backstage...

IMHO, that picture of all the people swimming is quite good for showing the problem: A lot of people just sit there with good weather, or in their tent, 'en train de draguer' and don't give a *** about what is playing.

Damn right, first time I went you could just sit there & chill on the grass with only about 50 people in total spread over the (read: entire) pit now: most of the grass was trampled at the slip-away itself you couldn't even just smoke one cose of all the naked bodys pushing into you (and its less erotic then it sounds XD ) lots of people eager to be seen lots of show offs at the camping waring those commercial hats from cocacola & fucking banks (those free give aways, banadanas and all that shit, damn)

ochja, nu kunnen we een ander festival uitzoeken en binnen 10 jaar laten zien opgevreten worden door commercialisme haha just like that episode of south park where they host a filmfestival, let it consume a town and then move on to another, that was genious XD

This is the 4th year I go to Dour now so I probably missed the best but I had a great time each year, they always have nice and variated artists programmed, and altough they raised their prices, it's still a lot cheaper than most of the other festivals.
And yeah like most festivals it's crowded, dirty, vol mee foorape en vetzakkerij...

But face it were not living in 69' anymore, times are changing and Clear Channel is playing monopoly.

I like hanging on the camping or at the 'lake' myself, most of the time I only reach the festival in the evening
