Hi, Ok, this is probably a dumb question but i'm really stuck here..
just bought me a trigger finger for the live advantages it brings. I want to play my drum pads from triggerfinger, i stored my presets in the impulse map of ableton .. but i can t find information about how to assign impulse sounds to trigger finger.
Could someone help me with this?
thx

Load the default presets of enigma to the trigger finger, and just use the channel 10 of the trigger finger. the pads will be assigned to the impulse so.
the midi notes your pads send out have to be the notes assigned to the samples in impulse. the 1st sample is a C (don't remember the octave, just try with your midi keyboard) and it goes up in semi-notes: C#, D, etc... for the next samples.

I am able to control the simpler... but controlling the drums still doesn't work. I can play drum from my usb keyboard, but not from my trigger finger for some reason.
This is what I did: i opened the enigma prog, took preset 10, then i started ableton but im not able to play drum from triggerfinger, using imulse .. though i'm able to play from triggerfinger when using the simpler !
Can you help me with this?
thx
Did you load the preset 10 on the trigger finger?
Set the Device on the Midi channel where the impulse in as the trigger finger, set the channel 10 (this has nothing to do with the 10th bank, it just happens to be the same). Set the channel to In (not auto or off), then jam away on the trigger finger. Just be sure the impulse is loaded with samples eh

- Send the default trigger finger bank from enigma to the TF
- Change bank on the trigger finger : Bank 10

hi thx it works purrrfuct now :-)
Great! The trigger finger is an amazing tool. I still have yet to use it to his full capacity, but its great :)
I'm planning to buy this thingie, what do you guys think of it? Worth the money? :D
It's "just" a midi controller with velocity sensitive pads. I'd advice anyone that want to buy one to think how he would use it before buying it. Otherwise a "simpler" midi controller is better for simple knobs/faders tuning.
well for me it would be concrete for improving my rythmics, i believe the body expresses itself better than a sequencer on a screen would..
i use it for diff purposes
at first, it is great to give your drums a live feel.
snd. if you search a sound in a library or on a vst, it is an easy & fast way to play around with notes, before you start playing it on a real keyboard.
thrd. as a controller, the knobs can be used greatly to experiment live.
fourth: when you assign audio samples / scenes to your pads, you can very easily interact with other musicians, or when you play alone, you can do much more live
there is a video on the m-audio site, concerning the use of trigger finger with ableton.. dunno the link anymore though..
ciao
