hey guys im planning on buying an edirol ua25 usb external sounddriver, but im not really sure if i need it :d does anybody have any experience with this interface? but most of all, is it necessary, does it make an improvement on your sound quality? does it improve your live performance? im just guessing i need it , because all the semi pro's have it too :d but i dont want to spend my money on something i dont actually need. so who can help me with my dilemma :d
here's the desbetreffend product http://www.rolandce.com/products/product.php?prod_old=0&prod_new=0&cat_group_id=7&cat_head_id=0&cat_id=70&prod_id=4846&language_id=NL
in't this one the upgraded version? and only a few euros more. not sure though, its also a good quality audio interface http://www.orbit-proaudio.com/nl/produkten/11719/edirol-ua-25-ex.html also think it(s best to buy your stuff from this site, have bought my esx 1, UC-33 & Axiom 25 here, usually cheaper then anywhere else and good service, very satisfied from this dealer

I have no more latency problems with the soundcard... Some people say the soundquality is a lot better then with the internal soundcard of your laptop... To be honest I have no idea if that's true... But I think it isn't :P :P But others will probably disagree... If you have a firewire port on your laptop I'd go for a firewire soundcard in stead of an usb one though! If you can miss the cash I'd buy one!! ;) You wont regret it (I think :D )
PS: Buy it on a German site, lots a cheaper, I always buy my stuff @ www.thomann.de saves you a couple of bucks eurm euros :D grtz!
dont have firewire :( i think the problem is with those issues that everybody contradicts everybody, i found this ua25 second hand new in the box for 100euros :d else i would buy the ua25ex
i got an UA-25 ex (probably the one you're taliking about) and i'm really happy with it...it really improves my sound while doing a live performance (before that i just had a cinch to jack cable to put in my laptop jack output and that sucks alot). Cheerz
yeah i do it like that too just a cable in the headphone output of my laptop :d but the ua25 is the old version of the ua25ex , ua ex has improved stuff, problem is the ua25 isnt for sale anymore o the roland website so doubt that it would have technical support.
It all depends on what you need or will need.. if you make a gigantic track with tons of heavy vsts you might experience some latency problems with your internal laptop soundcard, but with an external your cpu wont be at 100%.. I guess if you dont really need extra in or outputs you can go for that one i have a tascam us428, but thats too big to go on a fieldtrip.. for my lives i use a little bakske with usb-in en minijack-out.. en oeveel kost da ding?
http://www.rawpower.co.uk/acatalog/tascam_us144.jpg this one is pretty good also and 150 i think.. dunno you should also check thomann.de very reliable and sometimes cheaper goood luck
yeah just need it for live performances. do my lives in a pattern in fruityloops, with tons of vanguards, and usually my cpu goes bananas. tha is partially my own fault because i bought a crap laptop with only 1.5ghz cpu and 1.75gig ram
en kost 100euro 2de hands gevonde nieuw in doos nooit gebruikt
