Its not about betting or real competition at all (ok, i shouldnt have called it a competition then :( , or involve money )

its just supposed to be a way to make people try to create something with samples they normally wouldnt use. (so u would get bv. a heavy rock tune in a goa song or a mixure of hip hop and hardcore or...)

and it totally shows the diversity of people when u get 20 different songs that started out the same. i just think that would be awsome ;) .

so, ... drop the copetition, drop the money, ... and lets call it a sweet experiment :))

the money thing is not guud and the 'competition' word is certainly not the spirit of this place, but the general idea is not bad man ! but who'sgonna take the time to do it? who want to contest every two month? already so many thread about this ... do you have enought time and motivation to organize, to spam , to motivate people? because **n o b o d y ** s'gonna do it for u 8o . IF yes , create ur project, ask ZARk and show him you can do it and it will be done !

if you want to compete Mr Rule, take a look in the contest zone, there are some nice things... ;)

i'm in. don't mind to call it a competition though. do mind about the money.

at the elektron-users board we have regular monomachine and machinedrum 'contests' where one base sound is chosen and the one who makes the coolest pattern with only that base sound as a starting point wins. there's nothing wrong with calling it a competition because it's a creative competition and there is no prizes other than eternal respect from your fellow board members ;). the results are shared in the form of sysex dumps so everyone can check out how others have done it exactly. it's a creative community challenge kinda thing where a lot can be learned/inspired from each other.

I myself don't have the pretention to even dare to consider myself good enough to compete with the others on this site since i'm a absolute beginner. I just tought i could learn a lot from hearing how people take a different approach to creating something great out of a same basis.

I admit the moneything sucks bigtime, but i just tought it might motivate people. as aphony said: "who's gonna take the time to do it?" But i totally agree that respect from fellow members is the greatest prize and should motivate enough ;)

as comes to organizing: i kinda just tought to post a sample between the other songs and just call it 'contest sample' or something... 8(

but hé... i'm new...please don't shoot me for comming up with dumm ideas and questions (...and certainly please dont kick me in the nuts, i'd be better of shot ;) )
