1. a column with the latest uploaded songs on the frontpage.
2. the possibility to listen to a musicgenre page or all the tracks of a user.
3. the "musician search" page together with a music-collaboration page.
4. a freebee page with free stuff like userssamples - loops etc. a compilation of links to free VST's and Musicprogs.
5. The possibility to have more pics & artwork on the pages.

for the lay-out...I would create more depth and like cq puts it a change of wallpaper wouldnt hurt (I would keep the colours though coz I think people easily associate it with ebel).

Personnally I love webdesigns with animated buttons and menu's...this is a beta-site I once made, but never finished http://eer.ehsal.be/flash/. A website's functionnality doesnt always suffer under visual animations if done well.

I can create some wallpapers, a 3d-animated logo, flash animations (though I dont know a lot about scripts or programming) and other artwork-stuff. Just let me know!!!

I would also like to emphasize changes on the vote-system, the ability to check reply's on comments, membership-status, ...lots of suggestions have already been made in...but I dont know how far you want to go with the new ebel version!

basically you just give in a base color, and the website calculates different shades for it ;)

** flash anims etc... Well i like to use 100% of the page to display data on it ... i hate those websites that only use half of the width of the page or something (+ i use widescreen ;) ) Intro animations : waste of time ^^ Whole website in flash: resolution dependant ... (resizing a flash window resizes fonts :S well .. i never found out how to not do that anyway)

i agree with zark,it will make the site unnececarely slow;

that idea,of putting visuals in the player,is a good idea,to florish the visual aspect on the site.and will not slow down,the whole site

for slow streamers a stop button,and for broadband users,may be a choice of wich visual

but flash in general is heavy for some connections

may be its better made in swish,i dont know but.....

i think its the music,that counts combined with userfriendly interface

Offtopic but ... swish is just a help to generate flash .. in the end it's flash ...

okay, you are probably right concerning the visuals...

some things that I would really love to see is: -be able to mark your fav artists and be automatically notified if they uploaded sthg new. -replies to specific posts jump in and the author of the top post will be notified when someone has replied. -full list of all your comments and songs (+see next point) listened to. -ability to rate songs (scale 1to10) which will be arranged in a personal top-list (this rating is for yourself) -get rid of the voting system -organize contests (not necessarily for some price but just for the fun of it) -let a few well-selected objective (!!) people have a special status which allows them to give "stars" to a song (like a star for excellent mastering, top song in its category, best song of the week/month,...). those songs will get a star next to the title, so that people can see that it's a little beauty worth checking out. -...

good ideas or bad?

Maybe a minor remarc: if you switch between pages with back & forth function in browser the page always starts @ top, not where you were when you left the page.

Example: I listen to a track & start scrolling down in the list, i check the info on a track & when i return to the music list the page starts @ the top again instead of where i asked track info. Maybe something to try changing in v2, so page loads up the way you left it??

i think it will be nice to hane a chatbox on ebel sometimes i like to coners with online users

otherwise i have nothing to say about this site maybe just that i like it :) :) :)
