As you all know the electrobel.co.UK had some starting difficulties and is still lacking members.
Time to change that!
I made a first step by writing a promotional letter. Now I want you to help me spreading this message to a maximum number of independent electronic musicians from the UK.
If you don't have electronic music contacts in the UK, try to find some on myspace,friendster, hotmail, yahoo, i-tunes, mp3.download.com, common creatives groups, indy netlabels... etc... and send them the message featured below!
If we do this all together, this could really work out and be a benefit for entire electrobel community!

I’m an active member of the ELECTROBEL electronic music community and I apply to you as an independent artist from the UK.
Short time ago ELECTROBEL launched it’s british platform.
I thought you could be interested in joining our community.
The aim of the ELECTROBEL community is:
to unite electronic music artists from Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Netherlands and the UK.
to offer them a common structure to publish and promote their music on the internet.
to be a platform for collaborations, networking and mutual aid.
to create a strong and united web community.

After having registered, I advise you to customize your frontpage. The most important features are "my comments" (the comments on your songs), the "Forum", the "Wall" (our chatroom) and the online list (to see who's online). "totd" (Tip of the day) is very useful too.
Now I suggest you to upload your MP3 song material. The number of songs is unlimited. Don't forget to put a serious song description on each one. All songs are released under common creatives license.
Dont't forget to tell your friends about electrobel.
You will notice that the electrobel.co.uk platform is still very small. But if you take the time to have a look at the other platforms, you can see that this will change very soon, once it gets growing.
To log on the other ELECTROBEL platforms (electrobel.be, electrobel.fr, electrobel.nl) you can use your UK Login and Password by clicking PASSPORT LOGIN on the startpage.

FACTS ABOUT ELECTROBEL:
Electrobel has been founded in Belgium by some few electronic music freaks around our webmaster ZARK in march 2003. The www.electrobel.be platform has developped since and features now close to 1400 artists with more than 7900 released songs.
So in less than three years’ time, it became one of the most important underground music communities in the nation. Electrobel.be is no longer limited to being a web community, as there are weekly electrobel concerts in Brussel, and lots of electrobel events and meetings all over the year.
As Electrobel kept growing, thoughts began to rise about spreading its wings. In 2006, Electrobel was launched in France, The Netherlands and the UK. The future might unite people from more countries as well.
All registered artists can easily be contacted through mail, forum or PM. You can register and join discussions from any country, but please note that currently only residents from the four host portals (Belgium, France, The Netherlands and the UK) will be able to upload songs on their portal.

Should work out well; Everyone I talk to there says they need something like JMF in UK, so...

my opinion is,if i would get a letter like that,in my mailbox,its spam ,thinkin its boring text,woulde'nt read it all,i think writing people,with details ,like how to log in,hmmmm is not a strategy.
and i noticed it this week,there are not lots of members there,not 1 housesong,and many empty other styles;
i will do what i can;but the key is,to pick out some descent motivated producers,and let nature takes it course

I think that the fact that there are almost no songs on that portal is a very big turn down. It's like with a party: if you're at the door and notice that it's almost empty inside, you just go and look for something else.
What you could do is give them the option to browse the other portals music from their portal. Maybe put a dropdownbox somewhere, which defaults to your home portal, but allows you to choose to view the .fr or .nl music.
One of the reasons I almost never post comments on the other portals is that I have to go to a different site and have to log in again, etc, etc.

True, an electrobel.com would help.
Actually I also noticed that if an ebel user of the .NL domain joins our site here, he automatically ALWAYs gets some kind of tag (NL guest or something, don't remember).
Why is that necessary? If you state you want to 'to unite electronic music artists from Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Netherlands and the UK' somehow I feel they should be able to just log in on any portal and people shouldn't see if you're an outsider or a regular.
It's gonna be harder there anyway. There's a lot of 'listen to my song on myspace'- going on on the sites i've checked.
