I know this may sound vague, but I'm kinda frustrated searching for a good vst for electro house. I've been using vanguard and z3ta, but they are too trancey, and I'm not that knoledgeable with them to create different sounds. anyway's does anyone know of any vst's I should be looking for that would be somewhat specific to electro house. Thanx

if you're looking for a vst with good presets i can't help you. most vst plugins come shipped with a lot of trance and real instruments patches, maybeye the minimoog and the cs80 from arturia could do the trick

But atm i'm using karma fx synth , a modular synth that allows you to create any sound you want. i din't know anything about sound design before i tried it, now i'm making almost every sound from scratch. many electrohouse sounds are made by modulating stuff like filters and pulsewith and so on..

yeah, learning to make sounds yourself instead of browsing presets is a big effort but very rewarding in the end... i m sure you can get most if not all sounds you want from those plugs you mentioned.

If you can't make elektrohouse with vanguard and z3ta, then you won't be able to make it with anything. They're both perfectly suited for electrohouse. Any VA synth will do actually

Elektrohouse uses a whole lot of very simple patches. A simple one osc saw wave pitched down together with a square oscillator a few octaves up (and some glide) will get a very popular sound.

Just experiment, Vanguard is a very good synth to learn synthesis on. Just load the init patch and tweak knobs.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think there is a fixed kind of sound for electro house, it all depends how the sound is brought, well offcourse don't use a supersaw synthesizer, cause that's for trance music, but don't say there is 'een vaste formule' for making electro house, cause that's very wrong imho.Grtz

Any synth... all have osc's, all have filters and all have envelopes.

If you want the typical chiptune sound (that's been overused so plz don't...) use the quadrasid or quantum 64.
