It's probebly something stupid but I cant find the solution...
Here's the problem: I have 2 yamaha MSP5 monitors connected with jackplugs to an Edirol UA-25...the thing is I hear a constant 'zoomsound' comming out of the monitors and when I raise the the volume of the monitors (the volumecontrol on the monitors so not on the edirol UA-25) the zoomsound gets louder.
What to do what to do????!!!!

cause can be your edirol or your moni's if it's the edirol, check if the preamps aren't fuly open (can cause white noise) in case of the moni's, it could be radio-freq's interfearing inside yer moni's. can be solved by putting a high capicity condensor on the inputs or making a faraday-cage around the amp of the moni.
disconnect the jacks, if the noise is still there it s your moni's, otherwise it s someting in the chain before your moni's.is the zoomsound noise or a high freq; because my ua-25 has makes a high tone lately :(at everybody: don t buy edriro
When I disconnect the jacks the noise is gone, It's really a zoomsound, the preamp isn't fully open and I've tried also different connections I've called the store and they said it had something to do with "de aarding" (don't know what it is in Englinsh) of the usb port of my computer (which I think is wierd because if I plug in my headphones in the UA-25 I hear no zoomsound) So I really don't get it and it drives my mad... @firefrog could you give e little more explanation about "can be solved by putting a high capicity condensor on the inputs or making a faraday-cage around the amp of the moni." Because I have no idea what your talking about man:) Thnx all!!

aaah! i had kinda the same with my Mbox! you have to use a usb-cable that has thick round blocks on both ends. those blocks keep the hiss away from your sound. also check if the cables from your edirol to your moni's are symmetrical (3 lines in each cable) what i meant with the condensor was that sometimes your speakercables work as an antenna that captures radio-frequencies and make them audible in the speaker itself (a friend of mine had it with the behringer truth's on his attick-room in Bxxl; he heard stubru and a french radio simulteaniously when he switched them on). to solve this problem you have to put a condensor between the signal-line and the earth-line of your speakercable. but now i'm not shure if it should be a condensor with high cpacity or low capacity... (the exam is in june, so maybe i'll tell you then :p )
what condensor depends on the frequency of the radio station. the higher the freq, the lower the condensor value.

yeah i know, but i can't remember how high or how low that condensor should be to be out of the range of radiofreq's
