General discussionOn October 2nd and 3rd, the second edition of the Pkuto festival is organised. The festival comprises a music and new media part. With concerts of artists such as Jon Hopkins (uk), Four Tet (uk), Dyno, Rustie (uk), DJ Kentaro (jap), Addicted Kru Sound feat. Selah Sue, Magnus & Sound Of Stereo. The new media part exhibits installations of 10 artist, both national and international like Philip Beesley (can), Joris Perdieus (be), Field (uk), Moura Joao Martinho (pt), Pieter Coussement (be), Frederik De Wilde (be), Joe Saavedra (us), Guido Macciocci (it) & Kristina Lanatchkova (be). In the exhibition we explore the boundries between audio art, video sculptures, computer art and robotics.
We also want to open up the stage for new electronic bands and visual artists. More specifically we search electronic bands and VJ’s who wish to team up and present a multimedia show live on stage.
Pluto will team up the bands and visual artists and provides optimal stage settings to play live.
In the weeks/month prior to the festival Pluto organises some contact moments where the band and VJ can explore what to bring on stage on the 3rd of October. We expect: a demo (audio/video) + short bio description of the band/VJ setup and how you would incorporate the elements of playing live. a firm link to electronics.
We provide: an approximated showcase of 15 minutes in professional circumstances a professional audi/video recording of the performance.

I'm trying to up this a bit here. I was also wondering f any of you guys would be intrested in aplying, we thought to chancge the open call if necessary to not include the physical contactmoments prior to the show, if hat would be more pleasing?
Four tet...DJ Kentaro,..wow zekers I dont know any VJ who idd like to work with, (cant go on the 2nd ),and Im not an electronic band,Im a one man deal. !excellent concept though.might just check it out if I can on the 3rd.Looks verry interesting (installations and the whole concept) I allways had the ambition to do my own visuals for my own live-sets.... check "Sk'p" in my "songs" .
Maybe it was not that clear. We at pluto team you guys up with a vj you don't need to be a musician/vj We at pluto are open to all electronic music ('including hardcore, gabber, noise, TBM, EBM, IDM,Glitch,etc) We consider one man bands as a band when they do more then faking after a keyboard The open call is on the 3rd not on the 2nd so yopu can actually join Please spread the message

You're on a producers board. Might be useful to state if you accept laptop-based producers playing 'live' even though they don't use any instruments, keyboard or not, but solely use their programs on their computer/laptop.
Coz with the term 'band' related to electronic music...

well about that itch, band may be a big word although I don't seewhy one guy producing music shouldn't be called a band, itmight not be the intend to be a performing band, but you're still going to have a band name a band myspace account and a bandage against bleeding headphone ears. So to clarify: performing person(s) making and performing electronic music, if you are convinced you are not a disc jockey (and even that is debatable) you are the ones we want!

A band is exactly what it says on the tin, two or multiple musicians. Otherwise it's a performer, producer, whatever.

You mention electronic 'bands' and visual 'artists'. Might as well use 'electronic & audiovisual artists'.
BTW, Fortet, Kentaro, etc. are all playing on the 2nd of October, no? What's happening at the festival on the 3rd?
