hey all i bought a new computer recently, everything ok. today i tried to record sumtin with a mic and audacity, but that doesnt seem to work properly. when i speak into the mic it records very silently; but when i play a song in mediaplayer or so it records that song REALLY loud. and when i plug out my mic, it still records the song playing.. it's not a problem with audacity, nor with my mic, nor with any recording program (also failed in the windows sound recorder); so it must be something in my computer? i don't have a soundcard, just a chip or something on my motherboard. can someone explain me what's going on? and how can i fix this?
thanks !
Motherboard soundcards are not that great to use for audio recording, but it should work. have you used the correct mic input? When you use the line-in for connecting your mic it will not come thru loudly enough. Also check your audio mixer settings for the soundcard in Windows. there should be an option to "boost mic input". These are the things I come up with now, maybe others have more possibilities? Good luck!
