ebel party @ quartier, gent ?
Eventsa while back i mentioned i would check out the possibility of having ebel parties at le quartier in gent (http://www.lequartier.be/). the boss is a friend of mine. i didn't visit gent for a while but tonight i finally did and there s definitely the possibility. the place can be used for free. i m too far away from gent to actively organize things so i d prefer if some locals pick it up. some people had already volunteered for that. please respond here if you wanna do it and i ll pm you the boss' phone number.

Allright! Where to start,hmm... I personally never participated at giving party's,well a the moment Im making flyers for Breakbeat party's for early 2008,check my space for some artwork and SKIP's BICart1,2 and 3 in our galleries) So I'm willing to make original flyers for free offcourse (free entrance I presume). About music,I personally make a mix of IDM-Chiptune-ambient-drum'n bass...and all the inbetweens(kinda colorfull stuff).And Im willing to participate.But thats just my saying on that.Dont know if that style will be apropriate. In quartier is mostely kinda hip-hop 'n ragga stuff I think,but maybe thats our chance to change that...I guess we'll wait and see what people have to say about that. Ow and I'm from Gent offcourse. Thats all I can offer for now. Cheerz!

BUT: the soundsystem suckes big time! so if you would do it seriously maybe rent some extra speakers...
but if its just suposed to be like every 3 weeks a cosy showcase evening or somehting it deffenitly wouldn't be nesicary...

yeah the sound isn't super. some subs would help... but maybe that's got to do with geluidsoverlast for the neighbors
We're (me and kornie) going to have a chat with the owner and see where that takes us. We'll drop a line here once we have more info.
The last ebel event in Ghent was 10 people, do you really need to push his buttons to get extra subs for a first event? Why not try out and see how it goes, it's usually easier to discuss for extra gear after a relatively succesful event. And if it is, come and get my sub and speakers if you want ;)
