Okay, my idea is this ... when you add an mp3 to a song, you are asked if you want to allow other users to add comments to your song. If you agree, users who have listened to your song (and are signed up, we all know what happens with anonymous users (thinking of boups forum) ) will be able to post comments. If however you refuse, they won't have that option.

That way if you'd like to have some feedback (maybe 'cos it's a draft or something) you can have it, and on the other hand you cannot have anyone saying possibly bad things on a piece of music that you know they couldn't understand... (you really can feel i'm talking thru my experience with online forum's here ...)

Anyway, brainstorm away :P

Nice idea... Maybe you could make a rating script (with a drop down list)... Just an idea...

already discussed ratings with SAMForce (off the record).

And well, the idea isn't too good, i mean, who are you really to say how much a song is worth ...

maybe we could put rating on technicalities ..

like :

  • Dynamics
  • Structure etc...

or things like

  • Dancefloor-potential etc...

but even then ...

i don't think ratings would be constructive enough ...

  • there's already a sort of ranking done in the MUZIK page ...

may be you can built 2 buttons,1that allows regestered users to comments,and 1 for Anonymous users;

i have deleted the 1st Anonymous comment in my total stay on e-bel,comment was just insultin and not constructive;

to Anonymous users;it doese'nt hurt anymore what you have to say,cause the moment you go Anonymous,i can just wipe it out of my head,its just your waste of time,i'm sure they aren't Anonymous at all,just chickenshits who are too are scared to say it in person :D

and may be the management can compare ip's,to double check if the Anonymous person ise'nt a registered user,

securety freak,hey,lets see about that

I like the idea of having three options:

  1. No comments
  2. No anonymous comments
  3. All comments allowed

I like the way songs are graded at the moment: you like it, or you don't. If users want to elaborate on the why, they can do so in the comments.

Ow another feature request: add a button 'add to favorites' in the flash player :)

i never got bad anonymous comments...but for the others yeah i guess it's a great idea...why not a thingie like people have to give a mail adress before being able to vote or comment...they can still give a false adress but it's less anonymous don't ya think??? or maybe a ip adress :) so the ones that are registered we can see the name or the anomymous we can see the ip adress

drunken brainstorming here ;)

The possibility to allow/disallow comments should do in combination with the impossibility of anonymae to comment. It's only fair to register when you want to use the system. No? After all there's allways the possibility to delete comments when you feel offended. Allthough Ive been bragging around spitting remarks here and there lately I never felt inapropriatly addressed in anyway. That's one thing to like.

its just people who are registered tend to go ofline as anonymous,to setlle a score;

and real anonymous gives the boop effect,they tend to let their frustrations go,for all we know it could be a counter e-bel organistaion,that wants to polute our forum and comments;

we just cant know,cant we,they are anonymous,huplaaaaa

but we haven't really encountered much spam or flaming on the forums have we? and those bad anonymous comments are usually isolated cases which you can delete anyways...so I don't see where the problem is? only thing I have a problem with is negative votes without any feedback 8(

and if you go tracking and publishing ip-addresses (I wonder if that's even 100% legal), spammers will just start using proxy's, refreshing their IP, etc....so imo opinion not a good solution either

Well, I don't know, the only spam I see is people registering, posting some promo for whatever it is they're busy with, then not log on anymore; No songs, no comments, no songs listened. Allowing anonymous users basically any kind of freedom would triple that, along with the usual 'BUY VIAGRA' etc. :)
