low budget active monitors
Help neededi bought the nanopad and nanokontrol the ohter day, and found out that i had still 90euros left of my savings! so i decided to buy some low budget monitors. at the musicstore website 2 pairs i noticed

I dont really know what the differance between the digital and the normal active monitors is, so i post this here :D

if there's one thing i wouldn't go low budget on, it has to be active monitor speakers. wait a couple of months and buy decent ones.

²nd that... you're better off with decent hifi speakers than with such low cost monitors. If you buy monitors, think >€500

Each if you can afford. If you want to go (semi)-pro, no pair of monitors under 1000 is even mentioned in comparisons. I have a pair of alesis m1 mk2 for a couple of years now. They're ok but you're just producing blindfolded when it comes to everything under 100hz. Same goes for other cheap moni's. The cheaper you go, the more they lack in flat response.
what should one keep in mind when buying monitors? i mean, watts, hertz's n shit ohm independancy......
Check out the Adam A7 for a very revealing but budget friendly speaker. A little bass-light, but should be no problem at lower volumes. You could also add a sub at a later date to extend >the LF response.

Don't mind the watts or power when you have nearfields (= bedroom producersetting, moni's at 1.5m in a triangle from your ears). Don't know much about technical details but I bet people like firefrog and others do. I heard good things about working with (even low budget) moni's in combination with a mid priced subwoofer (subwoofer monitor is even better but those cost again >€700). The everlasting rule is that you get to know your sound/room/monitors.
