**SHOW US YOUR OWN DEFINITION OF WHAT IS GROOVE ![/ALIGN]
can't wait to hear what samforce will come up with :p
he's made some really groovy tracks, but always keeping a touch of experimentalisation in it :p
OK, to make it easy on all of you, i put "Groove" through Wikipedia!
the "groove" interpretation technique is widely attributed to James Brown's drummers Clyde Stubblefield and Jabo Starks, traditional Jamaican Reggae, African music and Latin music, and consists of an interpretation and a syncopation of a binary rhythm in soul music by the rhythm section, even though it has reached many other genres. This particular technique is very well explained and documented in a video from Mike Clark (drums) and Paul Jackson (bass).
Porn groove (or porno groove) is a term used to describe the music soundtrack to pornographic films, or a genre of music that imitates such music. The electric guitar with wah-wah pedal is the most common instrument associated with porn groove, and is almost synonymous with the genre. In some movies such as the popular and influential Deep Throat, the film is cut with the music in mind, making the 'thrust' in the scenes 'flow' with the music.
Groove metal, often associated with neo-thrash/post-thrash and power groove, is a term sometimes used to describe a derivative of thrash metal which took its current form during the early 1990s.[1] Groove metal is a blend of several genres from the '80s, including traditional heavy metal, hardcore punk, and thrash metal.
So to go short: this contest is about making music with heavy Guitars, with vocals that sounds like james brown's and that could fit on a porn-movie... right?
And the winner is............. Porn Again??
Not at all.
I dont speak about what groove means in the seventies. You can do it, but its not the goal.
Groove = something who made your body move without you decide it.

OK, so more of the feeling in a song? Cause My groove is probaly something else then yourgroove, right?
I mean, I can totally NOT dance when I hear this popular jumper-music (like all those kids now adays)(just hate it) But when there is some mid-tempo-wave playing, I go dancing all by my self on a 1000people-dancefloor... no stopping me then. (but then most of the time people come ask me if I can sell them some of the pills I took... sigh)
So basicly ANY kind of music has a groove to someone, no?
