I wondered wich MP 3 converter to use in order to have a good sound.

I always use Samplitude for MP3 conversion... But maybe the program is a bit too large to use only for that purpose... :)

Cool Edit Pro still does it 4 me. Just make sure you have the latest audio-codecs installed 4 optimal sound. And dont EVER use VBR mp3's( did some research on it & seems that CBR is way better sounding)
Best imo is ogg, smaller than mp3 & better encoding.
I use Steinberg WaveLab for convert Wave to MP3 or WMA : it work fine. iTunes from Apple work fine too, and support new format AAC (MP4) that provide a better quality of sound.
