but if it is your kind of music, you can of course vote "against" the song.

BTW, I don't think you vote "against" a song if you press the "NO"-button. It's merely a way of saying "I don't like that song". That doesn't mean you want to ban that song from your memory or whatever.

just one thing to say about the system vote : it SUCKS !! The most poeple who put a "NO-vote" never explain why he does that , little prick or what ? Zark , if you want my advice (I know you don't want), put this system rating in a trash far far away of electrobel :p

Well, I wouldnt get rid of it....but it could use some enhancements;

this just came up to me:

1st. keep more statistics on the user and show them in the profile. for example: keep a statistic of the number of negative votes/number of times he gave feedback on those negative votes

2nd. give the users some status like : sporadic visitor, newbie, full-member, etc...

3rd. only show statistics of the votes to the author of the song.

4th. make 2 top-lists: one with the listeners' favourites (based on the number of clicks, votes for, etc.) and one with a selection made by a panel of serious and respected ebel members.

...just some ideas

easy sollution: you can't vote untill you have posted a comment of at least, say 30 characters.

i like these two idea's.

nr. 3 makes the votes more "honest", although others can still read the comments.

another thing that can help is showing the voters and if they liked/disliked the song. the auther can then check their profiles and their productions and decide about the value of their "votes".

Maybe the question must be "Do you find this song is artistic/effortfully or nonsense/copy-paste/5min. work." Because I pay attention NOT to vote against to respect to compositor/author. But I'm expecting the same RESPECT from authors too. They MUST NOT add a song which finished in 5-10 min. (I mean without mixing/arranging/mastering etc.) Please respect to listeners too!

U got a point, what you are saying is something I've said for a (relative) long time -> unfinished songs (let's say less than 85% finished) should be posted in the "in construction zone".

Yes, exact if a song is NOT finished yet. It must be placed "in construction zone". Other way, if I listen a song (some times a simple drum track is calling as a song!) in "general" section for me, it is a song (finished %90). And the author must be open to all kind of discution/vote/comenter about it.

I agree with abowe if someone wants to vote (-) he/she must select atleast a reason ex. a)This is not my genre b)Record is bad c)Song is not artistic d)other reason....

8o ofcourse if a song is utterly bad,i would xpect more resistance from the main part of the users,it seems always the same people,that point the ugly things out
