Anybody any experience or comment to share about Edirols FA-66 and FA-101?

I consider buying the FA-101.

I also thought about the Presonus Firepod, but already the 19" size scares me off...

i remember testing the edirol 101 last year at school (noise level, crossover, harmonic distortion, etc) next to a simple gamers soundcard (don't know the brand anymore), and the edirol came out worse (and not just 1 or 2%). therefor we renamed the brand to "Edibrol". don't know if that's anything worth to you. i'd recommend a Motu Ultralite (very satisfied with it); it has a bit more IO, about the same price, very good drivers/onboard software, and definatly higher quality (both sound- as build-quality). in fact when i bought mine, i compared it to the FA-101, and a clear winner came out

i've heard good things about the presonus, but indeed 19" is a bit sluggy for live perofrmances (+it isn't bus powered). the only disadvantage about the Ultralite, is that it doesn't have ADAT; although 10/14 IO compensates a bit for that. the only way to have more IO is to daisy chain with another Ultralite (up to 4, all seen as 1 big soundcard) or other Motu soundcard.
