Today I uploaded a song and it didn't get aproved for this reason:
This song has been blocked by reaman.
lower at least by 2 db, there's too much sound... then repost it... the song an sich is good but it's too hard to suit the ambient section.... less bpm would be fine as well but that not imperative, the volume is.
Well, I can understand a song getting blocked if it's in the wrong genre section, but a song getting blocked because of a to high volume? WTF? It's not even audio clipping, just hard limited it. So if it's to loud it's suddenly not ambient anymore or what?
This is the song we're talking about:

In my opinion it's ambient, no mather it gets 2 db less or not. What do you guys think of it?
Here, listening on Yamaha NS10M PRO, it's ok. And I think volume is a question of mastering, not a question of style. There's no audio clipping, not digital error noise. Rea, you're sure about the 2db? If you record a track at +2db in digital, there will be clipping things, no? AMF used a hard limiter, just to avoid the problem of general audio distortion but keeping a certain dynamic. Personnaly, I use a multiband compressor with a soft limiter. But what I am saying now, I usually write it in the track comments ;-) So, Rea what's wrong with this track???? :-D Hey, AMF, don't get mad with Rea, he's a real cool guy and he's a music lover. I think Rea is trying to make his job. So, let's talk about it, between musicians. ;-) AMHO, there's indeed a little analog disto limited in digital ;-) But just a question of mix.
I'm not at all mad with reaman, I just found it a strange reason to block a song. To me the way you produce a song doesn't effect the genre of a song. Apperently it did sound like it was audio clipping the first time he listened to it.
ok, talked about this with you on the wall...
there are plenty reasons why we can block songs, but it won't be for being in the wrong genre, they just get moved to another one and the accordin mod accepts it or not...
blocking a song can be because of: wrong bitrate, no sound, absolutely too bad to be published on the site etc...
i blocked yours cuz it clipped on my pc and just to prevent you from having to read comments telling you so... I also blocked it because - ok, it's your song - but maybe i was right bout the genre, the bpm, the hardness... not being suitable for ambient section. Then i should've moved it but couldn't think of a good section. Taken all this together i thought it would've been wise to block it
considering the fact you're the composer and you DO see it as ambient, then who am i to tell you wrong.... so, upload it again and we'll do what we have to do...
Hmmm, problem is that I wouldn't know which genre to put it in if it's not ambient? But maybe you're right that the song might be better with less hard limiting on it. I think I agree ambient is sometimes better when it's a bit more quiet. I wonder, does anyone else think it has audio clipping? Hard limiting usually doesn't make it clip.

If you have to hard limit your songs in order to keep them from clpping, you got some serious mixing issues. I'd take care of them first before uploading again. Like cutting more so your mix is at -3dB or less. hard limiting in order to keep it quiet enough means conceiled clipping imo.
Nevertheless it isn't a reason to block. About the genre issue: don't know either, I'd say leave it in ambient.
Jips, Is anyone able to look at my muzik and authorize my song?? It's been pending for 3 days, but there has been lisened to, two times since it was 8o . Cheers

it can be solved by putting your master output at for example -10 db, then exporting to audio and then using maximizers or sumetin like that...
keep some headroom, it'll enhance the mix...

i thinks reaman over-reacted sound is ok, style too
