hello there i recently f##ked my audio output on my laptop by having the earphone cable wraped round my foot as i stood up so i need to get an external sound card i have around 140 euros i dont need lots of inputs and outputs as i rarely record anything that isnt generated through software i do use reaktor and some vst plugins so it has to be able to handle that

I've got a terratec phase 26 usb Costs about 100 euro. Very happy with it: 2 stereo ins, 3 stereo outs (which is nice for lives, cause you can use a real life mixer). No phantom power though. The novation nIO 24 is very good too. Comes with a nice fx rack (which are really nice, I've got some of them on my xstation synth), special guitar inputs and has phantom power for mics. It's 168 euro on thomann.

Thomann.de has some really cheap ass breakout boxes too, but I have no experience with them.

I got the terratec phase 26 usb too.  It's solid as a rock for lives and very good for its price.
