I'm sorry if I'm bringing up some old thread.. but can someone explain me a bit about creative commons? I wrote about the CC vs Sabam, and started wondering about this (didn't think about it before..) I went to the site and looked around, but it was a lot of unclear information to me... I just want to know if it would be good for me. thing are starting to rol for me, I'm going to brasil for playing at some summer raves and festivals, and I probably have a contract with a netlabel for 2 years (just got it, but I still have to find out if it's a good one...) I guess it depends a bit on what kind of contract it is, but can someone explain to me why (or why not) I should licence my songs at creative commons? greetings, peter (if there is an existing thread with all the information, just enlighten me and delete this one...)
many threads on this subject, check out cc vs sabam, it was a debate we did 2 days ago
yes, but this has nothing to do with CC vs Sabam... I'm not talking about those two, I would just like to know why, and if, I should licence my songs at CC
and if I post my question in that thread, the chance is small that my question will be answered. causs everybody is talking about CC vs Sabam..
no no
we are exactly doing what you are asking for, we are, with all kind of groups of people in all kinds of threads, all wondering, why cc? why not? what r the risks? what r the positive sides...
we are by joining ebel a living test in a futuristic law-scape we still have to explore...
now
start exploring and testing...
i can give you one big hint, always post your second best songs on the internet, you never know where they might end up, even on a netlabel with contract keep your best songs for you and your friends to judge until a serious label contacts you or you get accepted... cheerzzzzzzzzzzz
