isn't it just plenty of compression and reverb?

wooow heum, on the exemple you take you dont even take the same loop, so it s a bit hard to understand...but i think you have also to use reverb(by the way...i use "dasample glace reverb and its wonderfull) and compression. i dont know if you ll have the same sound than the one on the sample, but thats I work to get my sound "full" if i understand what you say. You also can superpose diffenrent kick snares etc...and compress, or not A lot of way, everyone his technique i think but thats the big problem when you use those amen break ( i also do) its to make they sound more stereo .wav than mono.mp3...

BUT: if you check out proloops like an amen by tech itch or SPL, there are different high frequenties, its sort of destorted but then again it ain't..

So i've tried EQ-ing (doesn't work, the gaps aren't filled) I tried distorting (it changes your break entirly and it becomes sucky) I tried erosion (doesn't work either, I get some overal crackle on evere frequentie)

So maybe someone could know how to make my break sound more,... full (don't knnow how to discribe it exactly) maybe someone knows a VST for this....?

to make sure ya'll can understand I uploaded a file in which you can hear an Amen Break followd by my break (two times), and you'll hear the difference I'm sure...

aight so there's some kind of white noise on top of the first break, while mine just sounds empty as hell...

Yes I did :) (the loops have the same structure, the first one is just composed out of samples, second one I made myself...)

Z'nice that zshare. (and practicly the same loop I think) -1st listen I think there are more shakers in the first....and the kick in the first has his own reverb.Like some kind of big tube-reverb. But i really think the shakers make a big difference. They are equalized/FX'd in a verry crunchy way. And in your loop they only come twice. So i would try to put a second layer of shakers (or even short hihats or so...but not too loud) to add to your two-time-use-of shakers. -2nd listen Also in the first they have cymbals playing together with the snares,wich extend the snares' sound,wich makes it also fuller and crunchyer....typical amen,you know that. -3rd listen Try to focus your hearing on the high tones of the first(the crunchyness) and youll here some high pitched sound that I think is only possible using different FXes or extra samples...Its kinda steady troughout the loop. And in the verry beginning of the loop it sounds one note lower than the rest of the loop.Like that _----- _-----(so thats 2 loops) Hope you understand my thoughts here. Try to focus your hearing on certain tone-hights to deconstruct that loop. And experiment alot. But hey I really think you start to get your own sound lately. True,but I really think Cruise Of Fiction knows what he likes(listening to his stuff) and so its good to start with a base for your own style. Thats why I say ;"experiment alot." and "go further with it". So lets hope he gets more and more his own style.Well that starts to show already...So I got nothing against it.Well shurely if it aint loop-sample based!...you know

try voxengo stereo touch, or another decent stereo enhancer, it might help.

because that's cheap and using pre made loops (with some slicing and pitching) has already been done & over done. Its not about creating a new sound, its about creating tout court. And even if its not as good, its better then when u do nothing.

Yes but I still like the classic breaks for jungle or drill tracks, @ the limit by combining several breaks
